Tyler Hoechlin’s time as Superman comes to an end in December, and whileSuperman & Loismight be ending, the actor could still continue working withDCin another franchise. Hoechlin has solidified himself as one of the bestlive-action versions of Superman. The actorfirst played Clark Kent in Melissa Benoist’sSupergirlseries. After that, Hoechlin appeared in multiple Arrowverse crossover events and episodes before getting to leadSuperman & Lois.
The show confirmed thatHoechlin is perfect as both Clark Kent and Superman, delivering emotional performances full of the hero’s signature charm. However,Superman & Loisseason 4 will be the show’s last, withDavid Corenswet’sSupermanmovieputting forward a new direction for the hero in live-action. While Hoechlin will not be able to play Superman again in the new DC Universe, the actor could join the franchise in a different role.Hoechlin teased his DC dream roles before, and there are some great heroes and villains for him in the DCU.

10Catman
A Character Who Can Be A Villain Or Anti-Hero
Catman is the least well-known character on the list, but Hoechlin would be able to make him a fan-favorite in no time. The villain is confident, ferocious in hand-to-hand combat, and resourceful like only a few DC characters. The role would allow Hoechlin to flex his acting muscles after playing a hero like Superman. Different from many Batman villains,Catman is not completely bad, as he has some redeeming qualities, which Hoechlin could make shine.
I’m Convinced DC Is Using The Deathstroke & Bane Movie To Set Up Its Suicide Squad Replacement
DC’s reported Bane and Deathstroke movie could feature a major surprise, as key updates make a Suicide Squad replacement with the villains more likely
The character has great potential within a group setting, and it is possible that the DCU already has the perfect project for his debut in the works.A Bane and Deathstroke movie is reportedly in the works. According to different reports, it seems like the characters could be part of a larger ensemble, which could turn out to be the Secret Six due to Bane’s ties to the team. Catman is a major Secret Six member, so his debut could be near.

9Kilowog
A Fun And Unexpected DC Character
After having played Superman in the Arrowverse and four seasons ofSuperman & Lois, perhaps Hoechlin needs a DC role that he can do something completely different with. Well, the star giving life to a huge CGI character could be part of that direction. With the Green Lantern Guy Gardner debuting next year in Gunn’sSupermanmovie andHBO’sLanternsseries set to introduce Hal Jordanand John Stewart, more members of the Green Lantern Corps could show up.
Lanterns
Aaron Pierre
The best possible role for Hoechlin among the Green Lanterns would be Kilowog. As Superman and as Derek Hale inTeen Wolf, Hoechlin has shown that he is perfect as a mentor.Kilowog is the character in charge of training new Green Lantern recruits, which the star would excel at portraying. Kilowog is also very funny, allowing Hoechlin to show that side of his from projects likeEverybody Wants Some!!
8Reverse-Flash
The Villain Makes Sense Based On One Of Tyler Hoechlin’s Past Roles
Reverse-Flash could allow Tyler Hoechlin to really prove that he can play villains just as well as he does heroes. The character played a major role in the Arrowverse’sThe Flashseries, showing the immense potential that Reverse-Flash has. Whilethe DCEU chose not to use Eobard Thawne in its adaptation of DC Comics' Flashpointevent, the new DCU could have plans for the major character.
One of the Arrowverse’s Reverse-Flash actors, Tom Cavanagh, has a surprise role in Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman & Lois season 4.

After playing the earnest and compassionate Superman for years, Hoechlin would have to let that go for a manipulative and selfish persona to embody Reverse-Flash. Hoechlin does have a history with villains, playing Bizarro inSuperman & Loisand voicing Sephiroth in multipleFinal Fantasygames.Like Reverse-Flash, Sephiroth is cunning, ruthless, and arrogant. It would be interesting to see Hoechlin take those skills to a live-action performance in the DCU.
7Shazam
The DCEU Hero Would Have To Be Recast
Based on thepoor box office ofShazam! Fury of the Godsand Zachary Levi’s string of issues since then, if Shazam is to be part of the DCU, the role will most likely be recast. The character could be a good one for Hoechlin to take on if he wants to keep playing a DC superhero. Shazam even has a past connection to Superman on the big screen.
More than stunt casting, Hoechlin has what it takes to make Shazam a fine DCU addition. The actor has experience playing a hero with two sides, as Hoechlin’s goofy and lovable Clark Kent is different from his confident and commanding Superman. While another actor would play Billy Batson,Hoechlin could make the Shazam side of the character as fun-loving or serious as needed, depending on the situation.

6Hawkman
The DCU Has already Announced His Companion
Hawkman was played perfectly by Aldis Hodge in the DCEU. However, since James Gunn let go of Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam and seems not to have plans for that version of the Justice Society of America, the role could be recast for the DCU. If that were to happen, then Hoechlin would be one of the best possible choices to play the hero.
Hawkman should show up in the DCU in the future, as Isabela Merced is appearing next year as Hawkgirl inSuperman.

Hawkman is a character that very muchmatches the performance Hoechlin delivers as the fierce fighter Derek Hale inTeen Wolf. While the DC hero’s personality tends to vary due to his reincarnations, Hoechlin could succeed as both the more violent and rigid versions of the character or the more gentleman-like ones. Hawkman should show up in the DCU in the future, as Isabela Merced is appearing next year as Hawkgirl inSuperman.
5Sinestro
The Green Lantern Corps' Biggest Villain
The only reason Tyler Hoechlin might not be able to play the DCU’s Sinestro is due to his age. TheSuperman & Loisstar is 37, whileDC recently cast 59-year-old Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan. Sinestro is normally Hal’s former mentor, who becomes his nemesis. Still, with some movie magic — or TV show magic, if theLanternsseries has more than one season — Hoechlin could make for a great Sinestro if given the chance.
The actor did say at San Diego Comic-Con this year that he would love to have fun with villainsif he were to continue at DC after playing Superman. Sinestro could give him that in spades. The character is extremely intelligent, knows how to control others like few can, and is the figure of fear in the DC universe. Hoechlin’sFinal Fantasyrole as Sephiroth makes him perfect for Sinestro’s schemes.
4Two-Face
The DCU’s Batman Corner Garners A Lot Of Interest
Another major villain that Tyler Hoechlin could play in the DCU is Two-Face, and the actor could make his fall from grace perfect. While other villains might already be running loose in the DCU’s Gotham City,Harvey Dent could debut before Two-Face, helping Batman before becoming a villain. Hoechlin’s role as Superman makes him an ideal candidate for Dent, a character who tries to clean Gotham of crime and corruption.
The actor has the skills tomake the audience mourn the loss of Harvey Dentwhen he transforms into Two-Face. Then, Hoechlin’s past roles as a villain would let him shine as the character. Based on his time as Superman and his villain roles, Hoechlin’s version of Two-Face would thrive if both sides of the character — Harvey Dent and Two-Face — were constantly bickering with one another and switching who was in control, as has been done in the past.
3Deathstroke
The DC Villain Could Appear In Two Reported Movies
Tyler Hoechlin could also portray a more physical threat to Batman perfectly. Deathstroke could be set up for a major role in the DCU. While not yet confirmed for the franchise,a Deathstroke and Bane movie is in the works at DC. Additionally, a Teen Titans movie is reportedly in development for the DCU. As Deathstroke is the main villain of the DC Comics team, there is a good chance that Slade Wilson will appear in the Teen Titans movie.
Superman & Lois,Teen Wolf, and more projects have shown that Hoechlin has what it takes to deliver thrilling action scenes. That is very much needed for a character like Deathstroke. Tyler Hoechlin’s casting as the villain wouldgive Slade Wilson the gravitas the character demands. Deathstroke is hard to beat due to his healing factor, and Hoechlin could make Slade a physical and intellectual threat to Batman and other heroes, doing the character justice.
2Lobo
Tyler Hoechlin Would Have To Fight Jason Momoa For The Role
Lobo is a role that might be too on the nose for Hoechlin, but the actor would excel as the character all the same. Before he became Superman, Tyler Hoechlin’s most famous role was his turn as Derek Hale inTeen Wolf. The character had a cool attitude, was confident, violent, and likely the show’s strongest player and best fighter for some time.
DCEU Aquaman star Jason Momoa would love to play Lobo in live-action.
Instead of playing another major hero, perhaps the best way to continue at DC for Hoechlin would be as Lobo. This way, the actor could take on a role that he would be perfect for based on hisTeen Wolfpast while alsolooking and acting quite differently from Superman. Playing Lobo could even allow Hoechlin to fight David Corenswet’s Superman, as the characters have crossed paths many times in the comics, which would make for an iconic moment.
1Batman
Tyler Hoechlin’s DC Dream Role
Tyler Hoechlin revealed at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con thatBatman is his DC dream role afterSuperman & Loisends. Going from one of DC’s biggest heroes to the other would be a shocking move, but one that Hoechlin could no doubt play well. At 37, Hoechlin is seven years older than DCU Superman actor David Corenswet. That is not a big enough difference to be a problem, but the perfect age for this Batman’s story.
The Evidence Is Mounting That Robert Pattinson’s Batman Has Quit Gotham City
The Batman - Part II’s story has yet to be revealed; however, The Penguin makes it seem like Robert Pattinson’s Batman has left Gotham City.
The new Batman will debut inThe Brave and the Bold. So far, DC has confirmed that the movie will center on Bruce Wayne discovering his son, Damian, and bonding with him. More Bat-Family members will appear in the film. If the DCU’s Batman is already on his fourth male Robin, then he has to be older, andTyler Hoechlin’s role as a father inSuperman & Loisshows he is perfect for this iteration of the Dark Knight.
