Kay’s Speeder inStar Wars: Outlawsallows her to quickly travel anywhere she needs to go, and while the base Speeder is fine, there are a few upgrades that will make your bike truly stand out. Kay is a hacker, lockpick, and general scoundrel, and nothing is quite as useful as the ability to get out of sticky situations quickly. To keep your Speeder performing its best, be sure to pick up the best upgrades you can find.

In order to upgrade the Speeder, you’ll need to find Speeder Mechanics and Experts to tune it up with new abilities. The first place you can upgrade your Speeder is in Mirogana on Toshara, which you’ll find pretty early on in the game’s story. Once you unlock the feature, however, you’ll still need the required resources and crafting materials to actually purchase the upgrades.

7Speeder Landing Repulsor

Take Less Damage From Hard Landings, And Maybe Add Some Speed

The Speeder comes equipped with a Standard Speeder Repulsor System, which does very little to cushion those harder and higher jumps. With this upgrade, you take less damage after falling while on your Speeder.Additionally, if you land just right, you’ll be able to gain a small boost on top of your landing. A landing is considered “perfect” as long as you land straight on without hitting anything significant.

Materials

Speeder Landing Repulsor

Reduce damage from hard landings and add a small boost of speed on perfect landings.

This upgrade will come as a boon to players who enjoy taking non-traditional paths when exploring the open-world areas of the game. The reduced impact damage will allow you to fall further and, as long as you land well, get a little bit of speed off of your landing as well. While this is more of a quality-of-life improvement than anything else, reduced damage can also come in handy when you’re on the run from enemy fire.

6Moll K-19 Power Generator

Your Speeder originally comes equipped with the Moll K-19 Power Generator, which can put up some good speed, but doesn’t feel as good as some of the later upgrades do.Particularly with the second upgrade, which increases your top speed on top of your acceleration, your Speeder will feel faster and more effective when running away from anything that might threaten you. Most of the upgrades for your Speeder will require crafting items that you’ll be able to buyfrom certain merchants or scavengers, so keep an eye out for them at various shops.

Increases the rate of acceleration and top engine speed.

This upgrade is basic, but helpful in any situation where you’re on your Speeder. While you’re likely to get no reaction fromhitting an NPC at top speed, don’t let that stop you from truly discovering what your Speeder is capable of. Whether you grab one upgrade level or two, increasing your top speed and top acceleration is always helpful.

5CP-O Steering System

Higher Handling Will Help You Stay Alive

If you’re anything like me, handling is going to be one of the more important basic upgrades that you pick up, mainly because the Speeder feels kind of clunky when you first get it.Upgrading your steering system will allow your Speeder to respond to your inputs more quickly, which will make your driving more accurate and effective. If you’re already a professional Speeder pilot, then this might be less important to you, but for those of us who require a bit more precision in our driving, these upgrades are lifesavers.

A-7 Steering System

Increases the max turn angle of the Speeder and increases the responsiveness of the Speeder’s handling.

Some people think thatopen-world games might be getting too big, but having better handling will make exploring the open areas ofStar Wars: Outlawsjust a bit easier. You can cruise around at top speeds without worrying about tighter turns. Thanks to your steering upgrades, you’ll be better than ever at driving your Speeder, no matter where you are.

4Duralumin Chassis

Accidental Bumps Will Damage You A Little At A Time, Upgrade Your Speeder’s HP

If you’re not worried about upgrading your handling or landing repulsor, you’re going to want to increase your damage resistance by upgrading your chassis. Rather than directly giving your Speeder more HP, this upgrade decreases the amount of damage you take. This is effectively the same thing as increasing HP, and your Speeder will also take less damage from enemy combatants.

Highly increases the Speeder’s damage resistance.

If you’re having trouble finding the more elusive components for higher-level upgrades, there are a fewhidden features inStar Wars: Outlawsthat will make your treasure hunting easier.Keep an eye out for yellow paint marking pieces of the environments in the overworld as well as when flying in the Trailblazer. These yellow-marked areas often hide new, explorable areas or even hidden loot. One such chest, hiding an H-M Power Core, can be found followingLunarGaming’s guide on YouTube.

3Expert Unlock: Hydrorepulsor

Seek Out Another Expert to Travel Over Water

The Hydrorepulsor allows the Speeder to drive over deep water, and is unlocked through the “The Droidsmith” questline. At one point in the main questline, Gedeek will note that you’ll need to be able to drive over water to continue, unlocking the intel you need to find the Expert The Scavenger.Following this questline all the way through will introduce you to The Scavenger, Temmin Wexely, and will give you the ability to drive over deep lakes or rivers you come across.

Note that this ability is only really used to navigate the watery terrain of Akiva, so it’s not the most useful of the Expert Upgrades.Because of its limited use case, the Hydrorepulsor upgrade is relatively low-priority.However, this upgrade also costs nothing but quest completion and requires no upgrades to be in full use.

2Expert Unlock: Speed Boost

Find The Mechanic To Gain Some Extra Speed

For those of you who have a need for speed, there’s one more way to make your Speeder just a bit faster.Unlocking the Speed Boost skill requires you to complete “The Mechanic” Expert quest. This quest will see you meeting up with Selo, The Mechanic, to steal some Speeder upgrade components for her to use on your bike.

Increases the speed of your boost

Ion Hyper Accelerator

Increases the top speed of your boost, reduces your boost cooldown

FollowingHorizon Gaming’s guide on YouTube, travel to the wind farm west of the Boulder Forest, place magnetic disruptors on the terminal outside, and break in using the vents. You’ll need to do some sneaking and creative route-finding, but follow the level and traverse it using all the tools at your disposal to find the part that Selo needs.Once you find it, return to her to unlock the Speed Boost automatically.

Once unlocked, this ability can be upgraded twice. Both times it’s going to cost you a pretty penny, both in materials as well as components. You’ll have to decide for yourself if the second upgrade is worth it; on top of increasing the speed of the boost, it’ll also reduce the cooldown.

1Expert Unlock: Repulsion Blast Coil

Do Sick Tricks And Enjoy Increased Maneuverability With The Jump Boost

After completing “The Mechanic” Expert quest, you’ll unlock the Speed Boost for Kay automatically. Alongside this automatic unlock, there’s another skill you can unlock from The Mechanic.to unlock it, you’ll need to complete a 60-meter-long jump without being ejected. You can watchI.Eat.Gamescomplete this feat on YouTube, but the best place to complete this task is the open-world part of Toshara.

Improves the height of your Jump Boost

Find a clear space to land and hit a ramp going as fast as you can control. As long as your jump lands safely, you’ll have no issue completing this unlock and gaining the ability to jump into the air while on your Speeder. This skill can also be upgraded, but only once, so as long as the initial skill is serving you well, it’s probably best to wait for a bit to upgrade unless you’ve got the materials on hand.
