One user point-blank asked if Snyder had any intention of using more of the Dark Knight’s classic rogues' gallery, particularly villains such as Scarecrow or Mr. Freeze. Snyder didn’t specify which villain, buthe did confirm thatAbsolute Batman’ssecond arc would feature one or both of them.

The Absolute Universe is Perfect for Darkseid’s World
The Absolute Universe was created by Darkseid, whose energy dispersed into the multiverse after his physical body was destroyed. The energy imprinted on a young Earth and drastically changed its history so that it reflected Darkseid’s ideals and values. On this Earth, challenge and strife was the norm, while hope was fleeting. It even affected the lives of DC’s greatest heroes, removing their greatest comforts.In Batman’s case, he lacked his family’s wealth, forcing him to become a darker, more resilient Dark Knightas he took on a world founded on corruption.
Admittedly, Snyder was mum on whether it was Scarecrow or Freeze that Absolute Batman would be facing next. But Scarecrow is the perfect fit for a world as dark as the Absolute Universe. The people here don’t have the same hope to inspire them, at least not yet, as its heroes are still getting their bearings. It’s practically a playground for him to perform experiments far more twisted than his Prime counterpart. Not to mention,Absolute Batman is dealing with intense emotional problems, which a twisted psychopath like Scarecrow could undoubtedly exploit.
Batman Will Become Stronger From Facing Scarecrow
No matter the universe, Scarecrow excels at manipulating fear, and Absolute Batman has never been able to shake watching his father being gunned down as a child. This Batman is far more raw and doesn’t seem to have explored his trauma, preferring to channel his inner rage as a vigilante. All well and good, but that just gives Scarecrow material to use against Absolute Batman (assuming an Absolute Scarecrow also uses fear gas or some equivalent). However,Scarecrow bringing Batman’s trauma to the surface could finally force him to deal with his pastand become more emotionally sound.
Of course, it could wind up being Mr. Freeze that Absolute Batman fights next. And while it would certainly be interesting to see how the Absolute Universe has affected the ice-cold villain and his already incredibly tragic origin, Scarecrow could force Absolute Batman to evolve in ways other villains can’t. Joker might be a classic, but in the Absolute Universe, Scarecrow could be the villain that takesBatmanto the next level.
