Summary
After having watched theGenshin Impact5.0 trailer’s presentation during the livestream, I am certain that Capitano’s true plans in Natlan involve a lot more than simply acquiring the Pyro Gnosis from the Archon to hand over to the Tsaritsa. Capitano, also known as the First of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, is showcased as the main antagonist in the Natlan story arc, facing the Pyro Archon Mavuika as he tries to obtain her Gnosis. For reference, all the Archons from the Nations visited by the Traveler have either lost or given up their Gnoses to Harbingers that have visited them.
Seeing that the Tsaritsa’s plans involve obtaining all the Gnoses from all the Archons, one can imagine that Capitano is in the Nation of War to obtain the Pyro Gnosis from Mavuika, one of thenew Natlan characters inGenshin Impact. In fact, the Fatui Harbinger even questions if the item is any good in her hands, seemingly proceeding to challenge her in combat for it. While he is there serving the Tsarita’s orders, I do believe that Capitano’s true plans in Natlan serve an obscured purpose that will be revealed over time as the campaign’s progress pushes further in.

Leaks about Xilonen in Genshin Impact hint at a Version 5.1 release, as well as an incredible set of abilities that may be worth the pulls.
Capitano May Try To Revive Signora In Genshin Impact’s Natlan Region
The Nation Of Pyro Is Known For Its “Reignition” Mechanic
Capitano and his army are in Natlan under the Tsaritsa’s orders to retrieve the Pyro Gnosis, for whatever plan she has in store when seemingly defying Celestia. However, his presence there may be hiding a deeper secret, though still inked to the Fatui. In fact, there is reason to believe that Capitano has headed to Natlan in order to attempt resurrecting Signora, who was killed off by Raiden Shogun in Inazuma. This is sustained by the region’s reputation of keeping people alive after they are gone – and revival may not be off the table in Natlan inGenshin Impact.
Talks about resurrection were publicly showcased during the Version 5.0 livestream. The producers fromdeveloper HoYoverse mentioned how death can not be easily reversed, but have not denied the possibility of it happening. Furthermore, they mention that, specifically in Natlan, the flames of heroes “are not easily extinguished.” While Signora is portrayed as an antagonist, she is still a mighty warrior, and that may be perceived as heroic within the nation. They also recall something Dainsleif mentions in the Travail trailer about losers turning to ash – and that is exactly what Signora did when bested inGenshin Impact.

During the Version 5.0 livestream, the developers talked about how heroes can continue fighting in Natlan until the end of the war. They wrap up the spoiler-free discussion by mentioning a“reignition” mechanic that may be showcased for the very first time in Natlan with the Fatui Harbinger Signora, even if she is not a hero, per si. If resurrections are possible within Natlan, Capitano may be secretly trying to do this with his fellow Harbinger while distracting Mavuika and us, players, by using the attempt at obtaining the Gnosis as a cover for his true intentions inGenshin Impact.
Genshin Impact’s Eighth Harbinger: The Rise and Fall of La Signora
As the Eighth of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers in Genshin Impact, La Signora is known as a major antagonist. However, her past may be unknown to many.
Other than the open discussion about the possibility of rebirth or “reignition” in Natlan, there was already a previous hint at Signora’s return to the game during the character teaser trailer. In the Ignition video, several members of the Natlan roster are presented. Near the end, Capitano and Ororon are presented as antagonist figures, defying the Pyro Archon. The sequence that leads up to their reveal shows a flaming bird flying in their direction. This flaming bird may be a phoenix, a mythological creature representing rebirth, hinting at the possibility of Signora’s rebirth from the ashes inGenshin Impact.

Signora Has A Predisposition For Rebirth In Genshin Impact
The Fatui Harbinger Sacrificed Her Mortal Body
In addition to the potential that Natlan has to offer fueling Signora’s rumored rebirth, it is worth remembering she already has some predisposition to this. La Signora is the Crimson Witch of Flames from the Artifact set. By reading the lore entries related to each, you can notice thatSignora, when still mortal, burned away and from ashes, was reborn as the Crimson Witch of Flame. This transformation came after she lost all hope when faced with the Cataclysm centuries ago.
The Artifact pieces talk a lot about her flaming rage and new powers, but the Witch’s Heart Flames mention rumors about how she sacrificed her mortal body inGenshin Impact.

These pieces combine both mentions of rebirth and the possibility of Signora being immortal, which not only shows she has a background related to coming back to life but also the means to never truly die – even if we were led to believe she died from both the in-game story quests and the trailer-exclusive scene of the Fatui Harbingers mourning her at her funeral. The Fatui Harbinger’s death being represented by ashes also seems to connect with the idea of rebirth from ashesthat she was already known for, further hinting at her comeback.
While the theory seems to work for me, there are alsoGenshin ImpactNatlan leaks about Signora’s returnfor months.

Genshin Impact’s Featured 5-Star Characters Are About To Get A Lot Easier To Pull
A new character banner update arriving with Genshin Impact 5.0 may increase the odds of getting the limited character instead of a standard 5-star.
Multiple Leaks Have Talked About Signora’s Return To Genshin Impact
Rumors About The Fatui Harbinger’s Return Date Back To Months Ago
The first set ofleaks, which happened back in March, hinted that Signora would have new story episodes within the Natlan story arc. The details about her return and how this would play out were not made clear at the time, and the leaker Little Teyvat’s prediction that Emilie would not be released in Version 4.8 did not help with their credibility. However, leaks about Signora in Natlan have arisen once again, now closer toNatlan’s release inGenshin Impact. According to the leaker HXG in a post onReddit, Signora has some connection to the Pyro Sovereign.
No other details about this relation are provided, but if true, it could truly mean there is more in store for Signora. The mere fact that she is being mentioned in leaks years after her in-game death and the conclusion of her own story arc leads me to believe these rumors and my own theory, as flawed as it may be at the moment. If Signora returns during the Natlan arc, that may be a way of preparing players to reach Snezhnaya in 2025, greeted by the complete Fatui Harbinger group – except for Scaramouche, who left the organization.

New Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Natlan Map’s Full Size
Natlan will debut with a fairly large map size in Genshin Impact 5.0, and leaks predict how much it will expand in Version 5.1 and 5.2.
For now, this theory and the leaks that help sustain it should all be taken with an extra grain of salt, as they may be completely incorrect. However, the evidence and hints seem to hint at Signora’s rebirth, possibly triggered by Capitano’s own machinations within Natlan. Rumors are that the main story arc is getting more serious with Natlan, and the revival of a Fatui Harbinger does seem to fit that description. The first steps into Natlan inGenshin Impact5.0 should happen in late August, when we may get a glimpse at Capitano’s true plans.
