SinceAgatha All Alongbegan, the show’s biggest question has been evident:Who is Joe Locke’s Marvel character? The camera then pulls back, revealing Teen to be wearing a crown of blue. This crown is very similar to that of the Scarlet Witch, confirming Teen as Billy Kaplan. With the confirmation he is not Nicholas Scratch, Agatha likely committed to the idea of him being Billy.

While Jen and Lilia could have perished inAgatha All Alongepisode 5’s ending, it is unlikely that Agatha did. The character of Rio is still a wildcard and was notably absent in episode 5’s final scene, meaning she could save either all three witches or, more likely, just Agatha. With Sharon and now Alice dying on the Witches' Road, it could be the end for one or both of these characters.

Agatha All Along Episode 5’s Ending Gives Another Hint Toward Rio Vidal’s Identity

Rio Vidal’s Absence Suggests A Common MCU Theory May Be True

Since the character’s introduction inAgatha All Along’s premiere, a commontheory is that Rio Vidal is the MCU’s Lady Death. From the comment about Rio getting her bodies if Agatha kills the coven to Agatha begging Rio not to take Teen in episode 4’s ending, there are several hints that Rio is the embodiment of death itself in the franchise. Interestingly, another hint was dropped inAgatha All Alongepisode 5’s ending, as Teen/Billy dispatched Agatha, Jen, and Lilia.

Lady Death Explained: MCU References, Powers & Marvel History

There have now been several teases of Lady Death appearing in the MCU, which is exciting given the powerful being’s rich Marvel Comics history.

As Billy was having his fateful showdown with the other three witches, Rio was nowhere to be seen. This is another hint at her true identity as Lady Death, as she was likely dealing with the newly dead body and spirit of Alice Wu-Gulliver. Rio was shown stealing notable glances towards Alice’s body after her death, as, if the theory is indeed true, it is her job to deal with the dead. This would explain why she was absent from the final scene, as she undoubtedly would have tried to save Agatha from Teen only to kill her herself later.

Is Teen/Billy Agatha All Along’s Main Villain?

What Billy’s Actions Mean For Agatha All Along’s Remaining Episodes

With Teen revealed as Billy and seemingly killing Agatha, Jen, and Lilia, the question of what this means forAgatha All Along’s story is prevalent. Many will question if Billy will now be the show’s main villain, in place of the previously theorized Rio Vidal or the Salem Seven. However, Billy would certainly make sense as an antagonist to Agatha, given the bad blood between the latter and Billy’s mother. That said, Billy eventually becomes Wiccan and one of theYoung Avengers members, meaning his depiction as a villain makes little sense.

The Young Avengers just made a giant step forward to joining the MCU as a new replacement for the original superhero team. Here’s who assembled.

That said, the show could be turned on its head thanks to Billy’s reveal. Thus far, Agatha has been the show’s protagonist, yet the story has not been afraid to showcase her darker tendencies. This could mean that going forward, Billy isAgatha All Along’s protagonist and Agatha becomes its villain. This would allow Billy/Wiccan to be shown in a more heroic light and keep Agatha as a villain in the MCU as she has been previously. Above all else, this would prove that, fittingly, the show’s villain has been Agatha all along.
