The trailer shows a lot more of Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal, who will play a major role in the series as part ofAgatha All Along’s star-studded ensemble. The Marvel TV show will feature many horror elements, with the footage teasing a complicated adventure for Agatha and her coven as they attempt to reach the end of the mysterious Witches’ Road. Agatha Harkness Will Be In The Company Of Many Witches
Aubrey Plaza is making her MCU debut as Rio Vidal inAgatha All Along. The actress previously portrayed a Marvel villain as the Shadow King inLegion, which was not part of the MCU. Rio Vidal does not come from Marvel Comics. As such, there is no source material to inform what kind of role the character will play in the series.
Based on the trailer, it seems like Plaza’s Rio Vidal and Hahn’s Agatha Harkness already knew each other before the first meeting seen in the footage. A previous trailer for the MCU series also teased that direction for the character’s relationship, with Vidal appearing as a detective seemingly in Westview while Agatha was still stuck in the spell Wanda Maximoff cast on her. Rio helps Agatha break free.
It has been rumored that Agatha and Rio’s past has a romantic nature, though theAgatha All Alongtrailers and Marvel Studios have yet to confirm that possibility. Based on the character’s appearance in the new footage, it seems like Plaza’s Rio Vidal might not be a formal member of Agatha’s coven, instead popping up at times while the team walks the perilous Witches' Road. There is a theory that Rio’s green robes connect her to nature, with the witch having earthly powers, whichAgatha All Alongcan confirm in September.
