Aldis Hodge smiling in Alex Cross season 1

It’s something I say when anybody is developing one of my books or characters: I much prefer the story be brand new. I was hoping the show would be a breakthrough and not dependent on the book, and it’s happened.

He’s great at portraying the issues of trying to be a detective and raising a family in this country right now. And he’s got some of that charisma stuff going on, too. What do the kids call it? Rizz?

The Author Has Faith In Its Creative Team

The newest adaptation of Patterson’s famous book series,Crossis being developed by Ben Watkins, best known for being a writer andproducer onBurn NoticeandHand of God. However, all three adaptations didn’t do well critically. Now, with Watkins in charge, the TV series has a chance to stand out.

Since the new show won’t be pulling from any direct source material,Crosscould instead grab inspiration from multiple novels across Patterson’s series. This would help it stand out from other ongoing series on Prime Video, such asReacherseason 3, which prioritizes an accurate storyline to theJack Reacherbook being adapted. It also means plenty of twists could transpire throughout the show, leading to a new lens on its main character unseen in the books or film adaptations so far.
