The Ishibutai Kofun inAssassin’s Creed Shadowsis located in Yamato, southeast of the Asuka Rocks Basin. You must use Naoe to access this Kofun, as Yasuke is too large and cannot fit through the main entrance. Overall, the Ishibutai Kofun is not too complicated, but some parts might be disorienting. You’ll need a decent grasp of Naoe’s controls to get through the Kofun in its entirety, and you’ll need to get your timing right on some grappling hook swings. Otherwise, the Kofun itself is relatively straightforward.
The reward for completing the Ishibutai Kofun is one ofAC Shadows' legendary trinkets,Masakado’s Vengeance, which gives Naoe +1% damage for every unspent Mastery Point. A version of this trinket exists as an amulet for Yasuke but is acquired during the main story progression as part of the Templar questline. The effect of this trinket is among one of the best in the game because there are so many ways to earn Mastery Points. The Ishibutai Kofun is well worth completing when you come across it to take full advantage of the Mastery Points sitting unspent in your skills trees.

AC Shadows: Ishibutai Kofun Walkthrough
Get Your Grappling Hooks Ready
As you first enter the IshibutaiKofun inAC Shadows, the path is very straightforward. You’ll jump across some rock pillars and do a grappling hook jump to the far side of the room. You’ll then cross another set of pillars and find a massive room with two grappling hook swings. I was careless and slid down the ramp by accident, butyou can run back up the incline and throw the grappling hook againas you start sliding back down. You’ll go past across yet another set of platforms and grappling swings, then duck under through a tunnel.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Takagi Kofun Walkthrough
The Takagi Kofun is found in Harima in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. You’ll be rewarded with the Death’s Bloom legendary Teppo for Yasuke.
As you enter the room with the big tree, you’ll have to slide down the incline a bit before hitting the grapple point, then swing across. Swing to the second hook, you’ll see a platform across the way but nowhere to throw your hook. You’ll have to slide about halfway down the slope before hitting the grappling point, and from here, the jump can be a little tricky. Again, if you fall, you can run up the incline you just came down and hit the grappling point to try another time.

After youreach the center platform with the tree, swing over to the wooden planks and make your way to one final grappling hook swing. From here, you can climb up the cave wall to the top, where you’ll see a path leading to the legendary chest. Opening the chest rewards the Masakado’s Vengeance trinket, a Knowledge Point, and some XP.
Ishibutai Kofun Rewards & What They Do
Masakado’s Vengeance Has An OP Effect That’s Worth The Trouble
Masakado’s Vengeance is a legendary trinket perfect for anyNaoe builds inAC Shadows, especially if you’re like me and often forget to check if you have Mastery Points to spend and/or only use one weapon. This trinket’s effectincreases damage by 1% per unspent Mastery Point, with no apparent cap (at least that I can tell). Unlocking this trinket also unlocks the Damage for Unspent Mastery Points engraving, which means you can slot this engraving on another trinket if desired.
Don’t waste Mastery Points on every ability in any given tree, as you won’t be able to slot more than two at the same time.

You will also get anEpic piece of gearas you first enter the Kofun, the Revenge of the Onryo Robe. This isn’t a bad option if you know how to use the Oni’s Fury Trinket effect to your advantage, which increases damage for non-legendary gear equipped.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Makino Kurumazuka Kofun Walkthrough
The Makino Kurumazuka Kofun is one of the many Kofun dungeons in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and it rewards the Blush of the Earth Bow.
You might even consider engraving the Oni’s Fury trinket with your damage for unspent mastery points buff to combine the two effects. Whether you plan to use Masakado’s Vengeance or not, having the engraving available is always good, as you’ll likely switch up yourAssassin’s Creed Shadowsbuild more than a few times.
