In the latest sneak peek forBoruto: Two Blue Vortexchapter #14, the Shinju, the new villain group, welcomed a new member into the group after performing a ritual usingthe Thorn Soul Bulb. While it isn’t confirmed who this member originated from, the design and name more or less confirm thatShinki, Gaara’s adopted son, was consumed to make him.

This means the series will most likely involve the beloved Three Sand Siblings, comprising Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro, all popular characters fromNaruto.Boruto: Two Blue Vortex’s villains have been interesting so far, and it seems the group is becoming more aggressive as the series heads to its big showdown.

Manga panel of Ryuo being welcomed by Jur

Boruto’s New Villain Is a Clone of Gaara’s Son

The Sand Village Will Likely Soon Join the fight Against the Shinju

In the panel, Jura calls the new Shinju “Ryuo”, and the Kanji for this could either mean Dragon or Grain. Given how the face markings look almost exactly like Shinji’s and the name could be a reference to his sand manipulation ability, there is little doubt that the new Shinju is Shinki. Matsuri was the one responsible for this as she was the one to retrieve the Thorn Soul, and it is likely that her attack on the Hidden Sand, Shinki’s residence, will be shown as the aftermath of it.

Who Is Boruto’s New Big Villain? Jura’s Mysterious Identity Explored

Boruto debuted one of its most menacing villains yet, Jura, and his origins are still shrouded in mystery, with a few theories floating around.

There are a few implications of this besides involving other villages. Firstly, each Shinju has a goal of consuming the person their host used to love. For Matsuri, it was Konohamaru, for Hidari it was Sarada, for Mamushi it was Eida, and for Jura it was Naruto. From the limited time Shinki got in the first arc,Gaara was obviously the person most important to himso it makes sense that Ryuo would target him.

Ryuo’s introduction toBoruto: Two Blue Vortexhas many exciting potential scenarios and could increase the scope of the world, shifting the focus from just Konoha and making the series more alive. Including the likely involvement of Gaara and the Sand Village, exciting matchups are coming up that give fans more to look forward to, and the drama between the Shinju and their targets will be interesting too.
