However, crucially,while the campaign does not require a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass Core subscription to be played, all the other modes do, even if playing solo against bots. So, if someone wants to hop into a split-screen match with their friend and play against bots - something that has been a feature ofCall of Dutygames for a long time - they’ll need a PlayStation Plus or Game Pass Core subscription if playing on console. It’s easily one of theworst features ofBlack Ops 6, but Activision has its reasons.

Essentially,Black Ops 6uses texture streaming, which allows the game to stream the high-fidelity visuals rather than download all of it directly to a player’s PC or console. It is intended to reduce file size, which makes sense consideringCOD’sfile sizes have gotten out of handlately.
