Civilization 7made a big shift with its change in how players go through the life of a civilization. The Exploration Age takes the player from localized power struggles to a global stage of competition and cooperation. You will need to go across the large oceans, discover new continents, and meet previously unknown civilizations. Diplomacy takes on new complexities as empires vie for control of lucrative trade routes and newly discovered resources. It feels like the game gets so much bigger, a lot like in previous games, but adjusted slightly.
The Exploration Age is just the Middle Age, but this brings in a brand-new civilization for players to pick from and lets them decide where their empire will go. While it may make players feel bad about losing their initial civilization, the game is designed so that their previous civilization will affect their newest one. This is all part of the way the developers made sure players were not overwhelmed by how much micromanagement can happen in alate game ofCivilization.

Civ 7 Campaign Will Have Three Civilizations To Play Through
A New Pick For Each Age
Civ 7introduces a three-age structure, fundamentally altering the traditional gameplay. Each age -Antiquity, Exploration, and Modern- represents a distinct chapter in human history, complete with its own unique set of civilizations, resources, technologies, units, buildings, and even gameplay systems. Each age makes players choose a new civilization to play, meaning playerswill pick three civilizations before the game ends. This segmented approach aims to fix the late-game experience in previousCivtitles.Civilization, while fun, tends to snowball into overwhelming micromanagement by the endgame.
All 10 Civilization 7 Antiquity Age Civs Confirmed (So Far)
Civ 7 will have 3 Ages to play in, each with separate civilizations, maps, and more. Antiquity Age is the earliest, with 10 leaders to choose from.
By dividing the game into these distinct eras, players encounter a more focused experience in each, which keeps things even and should prevent one civilization from dominating the entire game. The Antiquity Age starts at the dawn of civilization. Players establish their empires, focusing on foundational technologies and building their power bases.

Resources available are those prominent during this early period, and civilizations are chosen from those that flourished then. The focus will then shift during the Exploration Age. This is when societies went across the oceans and found new cultures and lands. Technological advances in naval capabilities and global trade will be focus.
The final stage, the Modern Age, introduces the most technologically advanced civilizations and weaponry. The focus changes significantly, possibly emphasizing industrialization, advanced weaponry, and diplomacy, or a combination thereof. This is where players can finally focus on victory. The developers essentiallytook the first and middle partsof a regularCivilizationgame and made sure players could do it three times so no one could gain an early lead and secure a win from there.

Every Civ Confirmed For The Exploration Age
All Civilizations Coming To Explore
There arenine civilizationsthat will end up inCivilization VII’s Exploration age. These can be chosen once the players are done with the first age. They must lose their old units and civilizations topick from this new set of civilizations. However, once they finish this age, they will be required to lose these as well.

Every civilization comes with a set leader, so it’s a good idea to find outwho the new leakedCivilization 7leaders are.
It seems the developers believe that it makes no difference that the player is losing their civilization with the passing of an age. However, that’s just more proof thatCivilization 7may be missing the mark. Unfortunately, it is clear that players can only use these civilizations during the Exploration Age, and they will be lost once the age is over.

Are More Civilizations Coming?
Yes, the developers will confirm more civilizations before theCivilization VIIlaunch, but it is doubtful they will confirm any for Exploration or Antique. There have been nine and ten civilizations revealed for those ages, but very few have been confirmed for the modern age. Based on what was revealed before, we know there needs to be enough civilizations to match each age. That means the developer will revealat least nine civilizationsfrom the modern era before the game launches.
