While there has been a lot of hype and anticipation for Shinichiro Watanabe’s upcoming anime,Lazarus, a new clip fanned the flames of excitement as the series' premiere looms ever closer. The sci-fi action series is easily one of this year’s most anticipated series, and from its looks, it might even surpass expectations.
With about 2 weeks left until the anime starts streaming on Adult Swim, a newpreview clip has been shared on X(formerly Twitter), and it went absolutely viral, garnering more than 65K likes and 3 million impressions.Lazarus' new clip shows thatthe action sequences and animation will be nothing short of amazing, and this makes sense given the people who will be diligently working on it. Lazarus has been very impressive based on the trailers, visuals, and promotional videos, and this one continues to show why it is one of spring’s must-watch anime.
Lazarus Will Be An Action Masterpiece
By all appearances, the clip appears to be from the series' first episode. The unnamed protagonist, who will be one of the members of the Lazarus group, is breaking out of prison and fighting off the guards, jumping around parkour-style. He mentioned that he has a bad habit of breaking out of prisons, showing that this wasn’t his first time, and this is obvious with his elegance and composure. After taking down multiple guards, he breaks open a vent and makes his escape.

The action sequences were dynamic, the shots were masterfully composed, and the accompanying soundtrack was awesome to say the least. Chad Stahelski, the director of theJohn Wickmovies, is the action director of the show, and compared with Studio Mappa’s large pool of incredibly talented and skilled animators, Lazarus is shaping up to beone of this year’s best-animated anime.
