Daniel Blake actor Michael Gandolfini raises anticipation forDaredevil: Born Againepisode 9, where Jon Bertnhal’s Frank Castle will let out his full Punisher for the first time in theMCUproper. Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle returned briefly inDaredevil: Born Againepisode 4several years afterThe Punisherseason 2’s ending. But after exchanging harsh words with Matt Murdock due to their disagreement over lethal methods of crime-fighting,the Punisher has remained completely absent fromDaredevil: Born Again’s plot. That is going to change inDaredevil: Born Againepisode 9, however.
In an interview withInverse, Michael Gandolfini talked about his casting process forDaredevil: Born Again, his first conversations with Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, and his reunion withThe Many Saints of Newarkco-star Jon Bernthal, with whom he spent a lot of time behind the scenes despite not sharing scenes together.Gandolfini’s real-life friendship with Bernthal allowed him to witness the Punisher’s most exciting scene, which will take place inDaredevil: Born Againepisode 9. “Me and JB, we went boxing — and this is when they were still talking to him about doing it. We were sort of both having this moment of like, ‘Oh my God, we’re going to do this thing. What’s it going to be like?’ Trying to figure out where it was going… We talked about it quite a lot. I hung out in his trailer every day. When he was on set, we just hung out all the time (…) I know the insanity that awaits. People are going to lose their minds.”
What Michael Gandolfini’s Comments About Punisher’s Return Mean
Daredevil: Born Again Has Been Saving The Best For Last
Frank Castle made a brief appearance inDaredevil: Born Againepisode 4 sporting a full beard and longer hair than usual, butDaredevil: Born Again’s trailers and set footage confirm he will return sporting his traditional Punisher look, with short hair, no beard, and his iconic Punisher vest and gear.As revealed by set photos, the Punisher and Daredevil will fight side by side inDaredevil: Born Againepisode 9. Whether Daredevil and the Punisher will face off against Bullseye, Wilson Fisk, or Fisk’s police task force is yet to be seen.
After Episode 8, I’m Convinced BB Urich Is More Important To Daredevil: Born Again Than Anyone Realizes
Daredevil: Born Again episode 8 may have just begun the path to Mayor Wilson Fisk’s downfall thanks to the person Kingpin least suspects.
Daredevil: Born Againepisode 9 will culminate the tension built up throughout the season, and it will likely pit several characters against each other. However, Wilson Fisk will probably come out unscathed, as he’s confirmed to return inDaredevil: Born Againseason 2, still in office. The Punisher and Daredevil’s episode 9 team up might only raise the stakes for season 2, andDaredevil: Born Againseason 1’s finale will very likely end in a cliffhanger.

Our Take On Michael Gandolfini’s Comments About Punisher’s Return
Daredevil: Born Again Brings Frank Castle Back To Action
Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle seems to have lost his will to fight betweenthe events ofThe Punisherseason 2andDaredevil: Born Again, though he also appears to be investigating new targets when Matt Murdock seeks him out. InDaredevil: Born Againepisode 9,both Matt Murdock and Frank Castle will likely decide to double down on their Daredevil and Punisher alter egos as a direct response to Mayor Wilson Fisk’s anti-vigilante measures. Fighting together over ten years after their first encounter, Daredevil and the Punisher might lead a rebellion against Fisk at the end ofDaredevil: Born Againseason 1 and throughoutDaredevil: Born Againseason 2.
