Warning: Contains SPOILERS for MultiVersus: Collision Detected #1!The superhero members of the Justice League have always been compared to immortal gods, especially those found in Greek Mythology, withSuperman,Batman, andWonder Womanthe clear standouts, given that they make up DC’s famous ‘Trinity’. However, for characters that are literally held up like gods, the Justice League members are shockingly down to earth, especially the Trinity - and, during their latest adventure, they’ve never been more relatable.

InMultiVersus: Collision Detected#1 by Bryan Q. Miller and Jon Sommariva, the DC Universe has literally collided with other fictional universes owned by Warner Bros. in a multiverse-spanning event like no other. The likes ofScooby-Doo,Steven Universe, andLooney Tuneshave been merged with DC, and the heroes are just trying to get their bearings on what’s going on before they can find a way to remedy this cosmic disturbance.

Before these universes actually converge, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman had visions of strange symbols with no known origin. So, they discussed this phenomenon on their cell phones, and they did so while they were fighting their own villains. Superman called Batman and Wonder Woman while Batman was battling Killer Croc and Wonder Woman was fighting Cheetah - and the villains were actually offended that the heroes were paying more attention to their cell phones than they were to them.

Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman were Fighting Crime… While on a Phone Call

This scene showing Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman on a phone call while they were on their own separate missions fighting is utterly hysterical, especially since the villains actually got offended that they weren’t being given the level of attention they thought they were owed. However, arguably the bigger takeaway from this scene wasn’t the humor, but the relatability.

How often do people find themselves scrolling on their phones at work? Or talking to their friend/family member when they should be taking a shower or doing laundry? The point is, people are constantly distracted by their phones, even when they’re right in the middle of a task. Granted, the Justice League members were discussing something of cosmic importance, but at the end of the day, they, too, were getting distracted by their phones, just like regular people.

The Justice League is Just Like Everyone Else

It seems even superheroes who are often compared to literal gods of myth can still find themselves distracted by their cell phones during missions, which is a perfect example of how even the most powerful members of the Justice League are just like everyone else. However, this isn’t the first time that point has been made. Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman have always been portrayed as down-to-earth. Superman planning a date for Lois, Batman having a heart-to-heart with Damien, and Wonder Woman inspiring a random little girl are all moments that show these heroes’ humanity, and their relatability.

While the moments where the Trinity are portrayed as more human as opposed to god-like do convey how shockingly relatable they are, nothing can beat this moment fromMultiVersus: Collision Detected.Superman,Batman, andWonder Womanwere literally distracted by their cell phones while doing other things, and there’s arguably nothing more relatable than that.
