Blizzard is shaking things up inDiablo 4Season 8, as they are implementing a much more difficult “endgame” for those seeking more of a challenge. The current season ofDiablo 4, Season of Witchcraft, has brought a plethora of new content, features, and more for players to enjoy before the next season’s launch. While Season 8 was delayed for polish, the devs have released some new information about what’s to come, including the revelation of the mystery character making a return.

Yesterday, March 7,Blizzardposted a “What You Need To Know” article centered around update 2.2.0, which is the update that brings the Season 8 PTR to the forefront. It was revealed not only that players would be able to dive in andtest the new content this upcoming patch day via the PTR, but also that Belial will return to Sanctuary once more.

Belial Brings His Ruthless Deception Back To Sanctuary

During theDiablo 4 Season 8Campfire Chat, Blizzard revealed that themystery character they referencedin an X post a while back would be Belial. Belial will be making a comeback as the hardest lair boss in the title to date,as they are implementing a new Lair Boss Ladder to take the “endgame” to new heights. The fight is said to be more challenging than either Duriel or Andariel and will feature Belial ambushing players to curate nothing but chaos.

Diablo 4: Season 7 - How To Get Lost Witchcraft Powers

Season 7 in Diablo 4, and the Season of Witchcraft gives you the chance to pick up new powers with the help of Witchcraft. Here’s how it works.

Boss Powers are being introduced, allowing players to “deepen” their builds using strong abilities that have been siphoned from the very bodies of defeated World, Event, and Endgame (now known as Lair) bosses. There are currently 24 bosses from which to acquire these powers, including none other than Lilith herself. This in itselfcould be game-changingand might just bring players back around to test out these new, significantly unique powers.

There Is No Release Date For Diablo 4 Season 8, But A PTR Is Coming Soon

Players Won’t Have To Wait Long To Witness The New Changes First Hand

One ofDiablo 4’sbiggest issues is that it was simply too easy to make it to the “endgame” over and over, and I use quotes here because others believe there is no true endgame. Blizzard seems to have agreed with thedifficulty level being a bit lowerthan they might have anticipated and is upping the challenge for those who seek it. With Legendary items dropping less frequently, Torment difficulty levels becoming – well – more difficult, and changes to endgame bosses, players might finally get the tedium and rage-quits they have been asking for.

While there is no set release date for Season 8at this time, the PTR will go live on Tuesday, March 11, and allow players to dive headfirst into the most challengingDiablo 4content yet.
