There are three classes inDragon Age: The Veilguard, and despite the differences between them, they have one thing in common: no matter who you pick, you’re not going to start out with very much HP.Each class has different armors and defense numbers, but despite this, you’ll likely find yourself in need of more health sooner rather than later. If you find yourself in this positiononce the game goes live in your region, you’re in luck, as there are a few ways you’re able to make this happen.

Before you spend all your time increasing your HP, take a look at the way you’re playing. If you’re familiar withElden Ring, you’ll know that HP doesn’t matter if you don’t get hit.Play carefully to manage the little HP you start with, and though combat might take longer, you should be able to avoid taking as much damage. If you find yourself frustrated with your level of health and can’t seem to avoid the hits, here’s where you should start.

How To Find Evanuris Altars To Increase Max HP

Time For A Bit Of A Scavenger Hunt

The method that gives you the most max HP in one go is Evanuris Altars. These are large, glowing statues that can be found hidden in various places across the map, but don’t show up on the map until you get close. This means that you’ll need to do some exploring, but each statue will net you +100 HP.

You will be able to tell if you’ve missed an Evanuris Altar in a region by checking the counter in the top left corner of your map that indicates how much of an area you’ve explored.

To use these statues, you’ll need to interact with them once you find them. Some glowing, floating triangles will spawn nearby, and then reward you with your HP after you break them all. These statues are relatively few and far between, so they’re more of a happy accident than something you should worry about hunting down right away. There are two tucked into corners in the Arlathan Forest, and more in various locations acrossthe wonderful journey ofVeilguard.

Alongside Evanuris Altars, you should also keep an eye out for Fen’Harel Altars, which give you +1 skill point each. Interact with the altar, and then follow the wolf who appears to lead you to find a blue crystal that gives you your skill point.

Other Ways To Increase Max HP

Oh Shopkeep! Bring Me My Health, Please!

Another way to increase your max HP, albeit in a much less interesting fashion, is to purchase Dragon’s Bounty from merchants. Each one will boost your HP by +25, so it’ll take quite a few of them to match the efficiency of the Evanuris Altars. However, with a good number of shops populating the landscape, you should be able to build up quite a health pool if you buy every one you find.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard offers players a variety of ways to play, with five curated difficulty settings and one unique customizable difficulty

Each Dragon’s Bounty costs 375 gold, but not every merchant will be selling it.Just like not every merchant wants to purchase any old items you bring, so too are they picky about their wares. The best way to make gold in this game is to sell various items to the merchants that are interested in them, so exploring as many shops as you may is doubly advantageous. Take the time to check out each shop you come across, but don’t be surprised if not everyone stocks your Dragon’s Bounty.

Gold is pretty sparse inDA:TV,especially in the early game, so don’t go spending it willy-nilly. To conserve gold early on, don’t financially commit to new weapons and armor until you find something you know you’ll like. Once you do, then you can use your gold to upgrade it at the Workshop.

Between these two methods, you shouldn’t have too much trouble increasing your max hit points onyour chosen classinDragon Age: The Veilguard. Like with any RPG, HP is only an issue if you get hit often, but no gamer is perfect, so having a bit more health in your bar is always a good idea, just in case. Whether you’re aDragon Agepro or new to the series, there’s no shame in hunting for HP while you work on upgrading your defense and whichever armor set you choose.
