The first patch forDragon Age: The Veilguardis officially out. Though it has barely been a week since its release, the developers at BioWare have been vigilant in amending issues noted by players in the otherwiseengaging fantasy action RPG journey. This first update is a small one, as is to be expected so early on in the game’s life, yet it is still a very welcome update.
This patch comes with a new item that can be equipped by Rook in the early game, along with several small changes and fixes to improve the player’s experience overall. Lots of these fixes include general tweaks to animation and eliminating glitches stopping the game from functioning as intended.The update also demonstrates BioWare’s appreciation of its entire fan base, including players ofVeilguardand the studio’s other titles. New Armor And Where To Find It
BioWare Has Added New Armor To Dragon Age: The Veilguard In Honor Of N7 Day
N7 Day celebratesMass Effectevery year on November 7, letting the developers and fans show their appreciation for the franchise.The developers at BioWare have decided to add an Easter egg toDragon Age: The Veilguardto honor the space opera RPG series, according toEA’s patch notes for the newVeilguardupdate. The addition shows BioWare’s love for all its franchises and is a fun reward for players who consistently play all its games, though this new item is still available for all players.
The new item is a set of armor - the patch notes clarify that this armor is purely cosmetic, though it is a worthwhile addition nonetheless.It also comes with aMassEffectinspired helmet, and is a visually stunning combination of red and black metallic and leather pieces. The set can be found in the lighthouse after completing one ofDragon Age: The Veilguard’s story quests, “Singing Blade,” which is one of the earliest players will encounter, involving finding Solas' dagger. Once the player has progressed that far, the new armor can be found in a chest next to the workshop.
Notable Bug Fixes
Technical Changes And Improvements To Player Experience
The majority of the changes made have been minor bug fixes, but there are some interesting, and some rather humorous, things found in the patch notes. The technical changes include crash and lipsync fixes, issues with fast travel, making sure makeup options translate properly onto player models, and slight balance adjustments. BioWare once again shows that it has listened to player feedback from the previousDragon Agegames, and has made further refinements to the already fantastic hair meshes which the studio initially developed in response to voices from the fan base.
Some of the more eyebrow-raising changes include “NPC necks will no longer grow unexpectedly,” and that the Dalish elf in the “Unwanted Guests” quest is “now actually an elf.” It makes sense that more pressing issues like this have been fixed quickly, so that players do not lose their immersion in the setting. This patch is the first of hopefully many updates to come to the game, and this should leave players hopeful that much more content will become available in the future ofDragon Age: The Veilguard.
