Dragon Ball Daima Confirms Gohan's True Successor Is a Mysterious New Hero That's Left Us With A Lot Of Questions

Warning: Spoilers for Dragon Ball Daima, episode #4Dragon Ball Daima’s newest character has taken a page from Gohan’s book, donning a superheroic disguise and fighting against evil. However, this mysterious figure has left fans with a lot of questions as to exactly who she is and what has led her to this path.

During the relatively peaceful period between the fall of Cell and the appearance of Buu,Gohan took on a superhero identity as the Great Saiyaman, using his powers and abilities to fight crime while going about his normal life as a high school student. Great Saiyaman made an impact with his heroics, enough to attract the attention of Videl and get her to start questioning his identity. While Great Saiyaman seems to have come about as a result of Gohan’s boredom with a peaceful life, it would seem that hisDragon Ball Daimacounterpart is quite different in that regard.

The Masked Majin Takes Dragon Ball Superheroics to a New Level

The Masked Majin’s Situation is Completely Different from Gohan’s

While Gohan primarily fought crime, the Masked Majin ofDaimahas already set herself apart by tackling a much bigger issue: the rule of a corrupt and unjust government.Faced with cruelty on a massive scale, the Masked Majin stepped up, prepared to take on these far more powerful forces by adopting a superhero identity and striking from the shadows. While the Masked Majin was a bit unprepared to actually succeed in her mission alone, the fact that she had the moral fortitude to stand upagainst the despotic rule of Gomahalready makes her an incredibly heroic figure.

The Masked Majin’s identity is still a bit of a mystery, as she only unmasked herself for Goku and friends at the tail end of the episode. Fans know from prerelease material that her name is Panzy (also the title of the next episode), but that’s pretty much all that’s known about her at this point. Based on her appearance, she seems to be even younger than Gohan was, and perhaps that youthful idealism is what has pushed her into taking action against Gomah. Gomah’s rule has only been going on for a fairly brief period at this stage, which likely means that the Masked Majin has only been in action for a short time as well.

Even knowing her identity as Panzy, and that she has a large role to play in the future ofDaima, there are still a lot of questions waiting to be answered. Was the Masked Majin acting alone, or does she perhaps belong to a largerDemon Realmresistance movement, working against Gomah? It certainly seems like she’s lacking for allies, hence her willingness to expose her identity to Goku after he helped to save her from Gomah’s thugs.

There’s also the question of what pushed Panzy into action in the first place. Panzy was likely directly affected by Gomah’s cruelty, making her feel as if she had no choice but to act alone. Hopefully, the next episode will reveal the answers to some of these questions. One thing’s for sure, though: Gohan would be proud to see someone else following in his footsteps, standing up to evil even in a place as cruel asDragon Ball Daima’s Demon Realm.
