Star Wars’upcoming TV show,Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, is set during the New Republic era, meaning that many ofStar Wars’best characterscould make an appearance in the show.Skeleton Crewwill prove to be an interesting addition toStar Wars’movies and TV shows. Althoughdetails aboutSkeleton Crewremain largely under wraps,Star Warshas confirmed thatSkeleton Crewwill follow Jod Na Nawood, a Force-sensitive character played by Jude Law, and a cast of children, lost in the galaxy.

Moreover, the show will feature a remarkably Earth-like planet and, as mentioned, will be set duringthe New Republic timeline. Because it is set during this point intheStar Warstimeline, there are a number of majorStar Warscharacters who were active at the time and could appear in the show. While these are entirely speculative for now, here are 10Star Warscharacters who could have cameos inSkeleton Crew.

Upcoming Star Wars Shows: Story, Casts & Everything We Know

Several exciting Star Wars TV shows are set to be released on Disney+ in the coming years from the realm of both live-action and animation.

10Ezra Bridger May Be Back In The Main Star Wars Universe

First Appeared In: Star Wars Rebels

At present, it isn’t clear precisely whenSkeleton Crewwill be set in the larger New Republic era. The show is meant to be concurrent withThe Mandalorian, but the Mandalorian Era is expansive. For this reason,it remains unknown whetherSkeleton Crewis set before or afterAhsoka. However, this could have a major impact on who appears in the show.

IfSkeleton Crewis set afterAhsoka, Ezra Bridger could make an appearance in the show.

Grand Admiral Thrawn

Specifically, ifSkeleton Crewis set afterAhsoka, Ezra Bridger could make an appearance in the show. IntheAhsokafinale, Ezra Bridger finally made his way off Peridea, a planet beyond the mainStar Warsgalaxy, where he had been trapped alongside Grand Admiral Thrawn and his army. Thrawn’s return will undoubtedly spell trouble for the New Republic, but Ezra’s return is thrilling. In fact, as Nawood is confirmed to be Force-sensitive, Ezra could have an interesting dynamic with Jude Law’s character.

9Bo-Katan Kryze’s Whereabouts Could Prove Interesting

First Appeared In: Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Yet again, the exact timing ofSkeleton Crewwill prove interesting. However, unlike Ezra Bridger,Bo-Katan Kryze could make an appearance at various points throughout the New Republic era. Bo-Katan was last seen inThe Mandalorianseason 3 ending, where she was primed to be the new ruler of Mandalore. This means that herStar Warsfuture is a bit of a question mark, but a thrilling one.

If Bo-Katan were to appear, it seems unlikely her appearance would be little more than a brief cameo.

Star Wars - Grand Admiral Thrawn, Ahsoka Tano, and Admiral Ackbar.

If Bo-Katan were to appear, it’s unlikely her appearance would be more than a brief cameo. Instead,Bo-Katan’s story is likely to be explored inthe upcomingThe Mandalorian & Grogumovieor perhaps even in (an unconfirmed) season 4 ofThe Mandalorian. It seems certain that Bo-Katan’s story is far from over in the franchise; it just remains to be seen which project will see her more fully developed. Nevertheless, Bo-Katan could certainly appear inSkeleton Crewbased on the timeline.

8Maz Kanata’s Wisdom Would Be Quite Useful

First Appeared In: Star Wars: The Force Awakens

One of the more surprising possibilities is thatMaz Kanata could make an appearance inSkeleton Crew. In fact, this cameo could be a smart move onStar Wars’part to bridge this era with theStar Warssequel trilogy. Maz Kanata ended up playing a massive role throughout the sequel trilogy as one who has an incredible wealth of knowledge and key connections across the galaxy. Notably, she is also the person who put Anakin’s lightsaber in Rey’s hand (literally and figuratively), setting the stage for her Jedi future.

Maz Kanata would also make a fair bit of sense given what is currently known about the story. Specifically,Skeleton Crewwill see Jude Law and the group of children trying to find their way across the galaxy. Who could be more help to them than Maz Kanata, who has proven so wise and so resourceful?

7Han Solo May Cross Paths With The Lost Crew

First Appeared In: A New Hope

WithSkeleton Crewtaking place betweenReturn of the JediandStar Wars: The Force Awakens, it makes sense that the originalStar Warstrilogy’s heroes could make an appearance.Han Solo is certainly among the possible cameos fromthe original trilogy cast and characters, although that would, of course, be a bit complicated. Given Han’s age at the time, this would require either de-aging or re-casting.

Yet, that realistically makes Han the easiest of the three original trilogy heroes to bring intoSkeleton Crew, asSolo: A Star Wars Storyalready re-cast the role of Han Solo. Presumably, if he was open to it, Alden Ehrenreich, who played Han Solo inSolo, could return to theStar Warsfranchise for a cameo inSkeleton Crew. If he had also returned to his smuggler ways, it would be simple enough to have the crew cross paths with Han.

6Hera Syndulla Worked For The New Republic During This Era

One character who has already proven important during the New Republic Era inStar Wars’live-action TV shows is Hera Syndulla, the Rebel pilot fromStar Wars Rebels. Hera made the jump from animation to live-action inAhsokaalongside her comrades Sabine Wren, Ezra Bridger, and Chopper the droid. Notably, Hera’s son, Jacen Syndulla, whom she’d had with Jedi Kanan Jarrus before he passed away, also appeared in the show. Again, it isn’t clear whetherSkeleton Crewwill be set before or afterAhsoka, but, in either case,Hera could certainly make an appearance.

In fact, more so than any otherRebelscharacter, Hera seems to have remained critically important throughout the New Republic Era. It was clear she had a high rank and commanded respect in theAhsokashow. It’s unclear what role she could play inSkeleton Crew, but given the timing, Hera Syndulla could certainly appear in the show.

5Carson Teva’s Live-Action Appearances Could Continue

First Appeared In: The Mandalorian

Carson Teva has proven quite important inStar Wars’live-action TV shows. After being introduced inThe Mandalorian, this New Republic pilot returned to theStar Warsscreen inThe Book of Boba FettandAhsoka. In fact, inAhsoka, Teva worked very closely with Hera, at times even helping her get away with a smidgen of insubordination against the New Republic Senate, meaning that perhaps the two could even have a cameo together.

Particularly given Teva’s repeated appearances during this era, arguably rivaled only by Ahsoka Tano herself, it seems likely Teva could make some sort of appearance inSkeleton Crew. Moreover, as a pilot, there are a number of ways Teva could have encounters with Jod Na Nawood and the group of lost children. It would certainly be wonderful to see Carson Teva’s character revisited again, as his importance in this era has only become increasingly clear.

4As A Bounty Hunter, Din Djarin Could Make An Appearance

Of course, as the New Republic Era and the Mandalorian Era have in some ways become one and the same,it’s quite easy to imagine that Din Djarin could make an appearance inSkeleton Crew. Particularly given his role as a bounty hunter, it would make sense for Din Djarin to encounter the group as they travel through the galaxy. This could also prove interesting based on timing.

Both beforeThe Mandalorianand afterThe Mandalorianseason 3, Din Djarin works as a bounty hunter. However, earlier inThe Mandalorian, Din Djarin was quite a different man. Prior to becoming Grogu’s adoptive father, Din Djarin was much gruffer, more aggressive, and, arguably, more selfish. If the crew were to encounter Din Djarin earlier on in the Mandalorian Era, it could spell trouble or at least confrontation between Jod Na Nawood and Din Djarin. IfSkeleton Crewis set afterThe Mandalorianseason 3, though, Din Djarin would almost certainly have a soft spot for the kids.

3Grogu Would Almost Certainly Be Accompanying Din Djarin

Naturally,if Din Djarin appears inSkeleton Crew, it almost guarantees that Grogu will appear too. UnlessSkeleton Crewis set beforeThe Mandalorian, which seems unlikely, Din Djarin and Grogu will have already met. Were Grogu not with Din Djarin in a potential cameo by the Mandalorian, it would presumably mean thatSkeleton Crewwas set concurrent withThe Book of Boba Fett, when Grogu was training with Luke Skywalker.

While that isn’t entirely out of the question, it would be a bit of an odd choice. In terms of Din Djarin and Grogu, this would be a wasted opportunity to see the fan-favorite duo return to the screen, which would undoubtedly be a nice little boost ahead ofThe Mandalorian & Grogu. For the larger show, though, settingSkeleton Crewat the same time asThe Book of Boba Fettwouldn’t do the new show any favors. Sadly,The Book of Boba Fettis still considered one of the less successful live-actionStar WarsTV shows.

2Luke Skywalker Might Be Aware Of This Mysterious Force-User

Of course, many are waiting to see whether Luke Skywalker could make an appearance not only inSkeleton Crewbut also in other shows and movies set during this era, includingThe Mandalorian & Groguand the upcomingAhsokaseason 2.Luke Skywalker was absolutely actively involved in the New Republic Era, which is no doubt why he already had cameos inThe Mandalorianseason 2 endingand inThe Book of Boba Fett. It follows that he could appear inSkeleton Crew.

Ahsoka Season 2: Story, Updates, Everything We Know

Ahsoka season 2 is confirmed and has received exciting new story and filming updates. Here’s everything we know about the Star Wars project.

However, that raises another issue entirely. Thus far, Luke has appeared with a combination of de-aging and recasting, which has worked for the most part. In fact,The Book of Boba Fetthad clearly made major improvements following Luke’s cameo inThe Mandalorian, which, while exhilarating, did have a bit of an uncanny valley effect. The question now remains, willStar Warscontinue with this practice, or is the franchise ready to recast?

1Leia Organa Was Integral To The New Republic At This Time

Unsurprisingly, questions about Luke Skywalker’s whereabouts will inevitably lead to questions about Leia Organa’s, although her role in the New Republic Era has proven much more complicated to navigate forStar Wars. Princess Leia actress Carrie Fisher sadly passed away beforeStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. For that reason, the franchise has clearly hesitated to recast Leia, presumably in part out of respect, with theAhsokashow simply name-dropping her and having C-3PO appear in her place.

It would admittedly be odd forSkeleton Crewto be the project in which Leia’s new actress debuts, although never say never when it comes toStar Wars. Moreover,Rogue One: A Star Wars Storyalready revealed that a quick Leia cameo can work without fully recasting her (but that, too, caused the uncanny valley effect). It’s therefore possible that Leia Organa could be among the cameos inStar Wars: Skeleton Crew, although it remains to be seen who, if any of these characters,Star Warswill incorporate.
