A perfect spinoff possibility forEvilwould explore a mystery that would never get answered without a season 5 of the series.Evil’s complex storylines and fascinating characters were easily able to create an engrossing procedural show, one that mixed the case-of-the-week style with classic supernatural horror elements. Unfortunately, similar to many othershows likeEvilat the time, the series was abruptly canceled due to a multitude of factors, including the 2024 Writer and Actor strikes and Paramount+’s reassessment of their programming.

Even so,Evil’sseries finaleleft quite a bit open for potential new stories, especially in regard to its larger worldbuilding. While many aspects of the demonic creatures the characters fought were broken down through Dr. Leland Townsend’s (Michael Emerson) machinations, the methods of those outside of the Assessors who combat them were largely unexplored. This creates a perfect opportunity for anEvilspinoff, as it could showcase more ofEvil’s biggest demon-fighting group and what their plans are after the events of season 4.

Due to their often morally questionable actions, themain characters ofEvildid not trust them, resulting in the Assessors' decision to burn their case files in the finale.

Evil’s Highest-Rated Episode Shows Exactly Why Season 5 Needs To Happen

Evil’s highest-rated episode on IMDb showcases exactly why season 5 needs to happen despite the series’ abrupt cancelation by Paramount+.

The Entity’s intentions mostly remained elusive throughout the series, but season 4 gave a hint at their desires through David’s (Mike Colter) promotion. His and Kristen’s move to Rome in the finale seemed to be a happily-ever-after but the many hints at The Entity’s shadowy dealings as well as baby Timothy’s potential demonic powers point to a more sinister agendaas the organization attempts to keep a close eye on the main protagonists. The mystery surrounding that agenda could easily take the threads left behind fromEvil’sending and expand on them, allowing The Entity to truly show their hand.

An Entity Spinoff Could Build Off Evil’s Ending

Evil’s Scrapped Corruption Storyline Could Be Explored

Evil’sending and the scrapped storyline for season 5 could be built upon through an Entity spinoff, adding more unique horror elements and themes to the series. The main character’s move to Rome was originally meant to kick offEvil’sseason 5 storysurrounding themes of corruption and create great opportunities for satire with the Vatican-based group. Those themes could easily be adapted to an Entity spinoff as their tactics already bordered into immorality, making them a great lens to view the effects of corruption within such a rigid organization.

The spinoff could create tension much like John Carpenter’sThe Thingas The Entity is destroyed from the inside by both demonic means and paranoia.

In a similar vein, Timothy’s demonic presence may result in demons infiltrating The Entity to get to him, creating more opportunities for horror callbacks and internal conflict. The spinoff could create tension much like John Carpenter’sThe Thingas The Entity is destroyed from the inside by both demonic means and paranoia. As a result, theEvilspinoff can expand the worldbuilding from the original while also furthering the story as the protagonists attempt to save the holy city from a demonic threat.
