Before any modifications were added to the Mynock, she was already the perfect ship for high-speed chases throughout the galaxy – butan important attribute of Cade’s character was his inheritance of his ancestors' mechanical abilities, and he soon upgraded the vessel in a variety of ways.

Similarly to the Millennium Falcon, the Mynock was eventually tailored to its pilot’s needs. Originally a regular Helot-class ship, the Mynock was outfitted with different sized laser cannons and heavy armor. Beyond weapons, the Mynock had sub-light engines that enhanced its already impressive speed as a small transport craft. As the ship was also able to carry smaller ships aboard, Cade was able to venture into places the Mynock could not reach.
