Most of the details aboutGenshin Impact5.5, including its release date, new characters’ gameplay kits, banners, Natlan map area, story updates, and events have been revealed by developer HoYoverse, showcasing what players can expect for the upcoming patch. The next update in the RPG will be significantly larger than Version 5.4, which relied mostly on limited-time events.The new update will introduce both Varesa and Iansan as playable characters, as had already been confirmed by the developer, and now players have received official confirmation about their leaked gameplay kits and roles in team comps.
The update will also bring forth a new area to explore and, with it, new related quests that should help players better understand the history of Natlan leading up to the current days. Furthermore,players will have access to several activities, such as a new boss challenge, limited-time events to partake in, and, of course, rewards to claim, including a free 4-star character. The developer also revealed theGenshin Impact5.5 livestream codes, which can be redeemed for a series of rewards, such as Character EXP Materials and free Primogems to help your odds at pulling for characters.

The Update Will Arrive In Late March
All the information was revealed during the Version 5.5 livestream, which was broadcast on the officialGenshin Impactchannel on YouTube. According to HoYoverse,Version 5.5 will be released on March 26 across all platforms on which the game is available. This means that the game is sticking to its regular six-week schedule and has seemingly not suffered any meaningful delays to content production that would impede the update’s release on the expected date. The lineup for Spiral Abyss' Floor 12 starting in Genshin Impact 5.5 has leaked and, if true, it will make some of the best DPS characters unusable.
This is because, whenever a patch has been delayed in the past, the developer has also pushed back its respective livestream.The upcoming patch’s special event has already occurred and, as such, it is likely that the content is mostly ready to be added to the game via a short maintenance period during the announced day in March. Even with the release date, however, the update will still be divided into two halves, which will determine the order of the differentcharacter banners inGenshin Impact5.5, which had already been leaked and have now been confirmed.

Phase 2 Banners Have An Anticipated Rerun
As was mentioned, Varesa is one of the new playable characters in the upcoming patch. Confirmed by the developer, she is a 5-star Electro character who wields a catalyst in battle. Varesa’s main specialty in the game is using Plunging Attacks to deal damage to opponents – and most of her abilities revolve around this.For example, Varesa’s Charged Attack throws her up into the air, which allows her to follow up with a Plunging Attack. By using Plunging Attacks,Varesa’s kit inGenshin Impactallows her to accumulate Nightsoul points, which can then activate her Fiery Passion state.
Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks: You Can Already Farm Varesa Materials (Except For These Two Items)
A new set of leaks for Genshin Impact 5.5 has emerged and interested players may start pre-farming the majority of Varesa’s rumored materials.
This special state enhances her damage output and allows her to use a special version of her Burst. Furthermore, Varesa’s Elemental Burst sees her slam on the ground for Nightsoul-aligned AoE Electro DMG. In her Nightsoul’s Blessing state, Varesa can sprint around rapidly, crossing over difficult terrain, water, and liquid Phlogiston. She can also take large leaps and even charge through certain breakable objects in the overworld.The leaks had already predicted that Varesa would be a Plunging Attack DPS inGenshin Impact, and now HoYoverse has confirmed it.
The other new playable character in the patch is Iansan. A 4-star Electro character who fights with a polearm, Iansan is set to be a support unit for her team comp. Iansan can dash forward with her Skill to gain Nightsoul points, while her Burst triggers a pound on the ground for damage. Most importantly, however,Iansan creates a Kinetic Energy Scale, which provides an ATK bonus based on her Nightsoul points. While off-field, her Nightsoul points can be increased based on her allies’ movement, which further enhances the ATK bonus provided byIansan inGenshin Impact.
Through a passive ability, Iansan can also restore HP for the active character, though I’d recommend taking that as a bonus effect and not having her as your dedicated sustain character in the team comp.
Confirming the previously mentioned banner leaks, HoYoverse highlighted thatVaresa will debut in Phase 1 banners alongside a Xianyun rerun. Iansan will also make her first appearance in Phase 1 banners with an increased pull rate. After this, Iansan should be incorporated into the standard drop pull across all banners. Phase 2 banners will be composed of reruns of Xilonen and Venti. The developer did not reveal the other 4-star characters that should have improved pull rates during each period inGenshin Impact5.5.
Genshin Impact 5.5 - New Natlan Map Area, World Quest, Events, & More
There Is A Lot Of Permanent & Limited Content To Play Through
Version 5.5 will introduce a new map area in Natlan called Teteocan. This region, to the west of the People of the Springs tribe, is where the Great Volcano of Tollan lies.Players will be able to explore the region there, including the volcano itself, and meet the Collective of Plenty tribe. This is the sixth and final tribe in Natlan, so players will now be able to fully max out their regional reputation system. Additionally, players will seemingly be able to enter the volcano and even access a region floating above it called the Skyrfire Circlet.
There will also be a new tribal quest related to the Collective of Plenty and Varesa, which can offer players morePrimogems inGenshin Impact5.5, as well as Varesa materials if it is completed within a specific time frame.
This new area will be connected to a new World Quest featuring the Traveler and their Saurian companion, which could represent the climax of their story arc. There will also be exploration rewards related to the area, and players can get up to 400 Primogems for their efforts from Version 5.5 through Version 5.6. The new Natlan area will also bring forth a new Saurian type called the Tatankasaur and even anew world boss inGenshin Impact5.5called the Lava Dragon statue. This boss will drop Ascension materials for Varesa.

New details about the Tatankasaur, rumored to be a new saurian type in Genshin Impact 5.5, have leaked, and they may hold an important mechanic.
In addition to the new permanent content, players will also have access to several limited-time events.The main event, called Tournament of Glory in Bloom, will see players help Ifa (rumored to become playable in the future) and the Collective of Plenty tribe. There will be two main game modes to participate in; the first offers a contest to either attack an enemy base and steal their flag or defend your own base’s flag, while the second mode will have you collect treasures along a tabletop-like grid. This event will feature several rewards, including a freeOroron inGenshin Impact.
The other events confirmed for the patch are called Quirky Quaking Arena, Rhythm Ball Meztli, Unlimited Fighting Championship, and Overflowing Favor. The update should also introduce two new Artifact sets to farm – which go hand-in-hand with Overflowing Favor because the event doubles the Artifact drops from Domains. Players can also expect updates to Repertoire of Myriad Memorias and Genius Invokation TCG, while Venti and Dehya get new Echoes. There is a lot in store forGenshin Impact5.5, and it shouldn’t take long for you to experience it.
