Using the best build and team comps for Varesa inGenshin Impactcan significantly enhance her presence as a main DPS on the field, potentially annihilating enemies during combat.Varesa is a 5-star Electro character who uses a catalyst and specializes in dealing damage through Plunging Attacks. The character from the Collective of Plenty tribe in Natlan has her entire kit revolving around Plunging Attacks. For example,Varesa’s kit inGenshin Impactsees her be thrown into the air after a Charged Attack, which allows her to perform a Plunging Attack against nearby enemies.
Beyond that,Varesa can gain Nightsoul points by performing Plunging Attacks, and, upon reaching the maximum, she enters the special Fiery Passion state, which enhances her attacks. In this mode, she can also use a special version of her Burst, consuming less Energy than her regular Burst, after using a Plunging Attack. This entire kit sees Varesa leaping and pounding the ground for AoE Electro DMG. Once you’ve worked throughVaresa’s materials inGenshin Impactand unlocked her full base potential, you should start working on fine-tuning her through her build.

Best Weapons For Varesa (Best Catalysts)
There Are Several Options For Varesa
The first step is to find her a suitable weapon. The best weapon for Varesa is Vivid Notions, her signature 5-star catalyst. Tailor-made for her, this weapon offers a high base ATK stat (674 at level 90) and a valuable CRIT DMG sub-stat (44.1% at level 90). Furthermore, Vivid Notions’ weapon skill increases the user’s ATK by 28% and when they use a Plunging Attack, they gain Dawn’s First Hue. This effect increases Plunging Attack CRIT DMG by 28%. Additionally, when they use a Skill or Burst, they gain Twilight’s Splendor, which increases Plunging Attack CRIT DMG by 40%.
The table below lists the best builds for Varesa inGenshin Impact, including weapon recommendations, the ideal Artifact set, preferred stats, and more:

Skill Priority
Each effect provided by Vivid Notions lasts for 15 seconds and is canceled after the impact hits a target. This catalyst plays right into Varesa’s rotation as a Plunging Attack DPS.Alternatively, you can also equip Varesa with Crane’s Echoing Call. The 5-star catalyst offers an incredibly high base ATK stat (741 at level 90) and a medium-ranged ATK sub-stat (16.5% at level 90). With its skill, after the user hits an enemy with a Plunging Attack, all party members (including the user) will deal 28% increased DMG with Plunging Attacks for 20 seconds.
For reference, Crane’s Echoing Call is the best weapon forXianyun’s build inGenshin Impact.

Additionally, when party members (including the user) hit opponents with Plunging Attacks, the user restores 2.5 Energy, an effect that can trigger every 0.7 seconds and can be activated even if the user is not on the field. Overall,Crane’s Echoing Call will increase the power of Varesa’s main source of damage output and even help her restore her Elemental Burst for more constant usage. The only downside to this weapon’s usage is that it doesn’t offer CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG, which will inevitably put pressure on building Varesa’s stats throughArtifact grinding inGenshin Impact.
If you don’t have access to either weapon, a viable 5-star alternative to it is Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds. This catalyst offers a high base ATK (608 at level 90) and a fantastic CRIT Rate sub-stat (33.1% at level 90). It increases the user’s Movement SPD by 10% and, during combat, they gain an 8% Elemental DMG Bonus every four seconds, up to four stacks. Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds’ skills don’t offer much into Varesa’s Plunging-focused kit inGenshin Impact, but the CRIT Rate sub-stat and its Movement SPD could enhance gameplay with her.

Genshin Impact 5.5: Should You Pull For Varesa If You Already Have Xiao?
Because of the similarities between Varesa and Xiao in Genshin Impact, players may be unsure about whether or not they pull for the new character.
Another 5-star catalyst to consider for Varesa is Skyward Atlas. This weapon offers a high base ATK (674 at level 90) and a powerful ATK sub-stat (33.1% at level 90). Skyward Atlas increases Elemental DMG Bonus by 12%. Additionally, Normal Attack hits have a 50% chance to create an effect that seeks enemies to attack for 15 seconds, dealing 160% ATK DMG, an effect that occurs every 30 seconds. This weapon’s skill isn’t too great for Varesa as Normal Attack hits don’t contemplate Plunging Attacks, but the offensive bonuses are great to justify its usage inGenshin Impact.

If you don’t have any of these 5-star weapons, you could use other 5-star catalysts that offer good CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG sub-stats. This would make building Varesa easier, even if the weapon’s skill doesn’t necessarily affect her.
The best 4-star catalyst for Varesa is The Widsith. The weapon offers a lower base ATK stat (510 at level 90) but a superb CRIT DMG sub-stat (55.1% at level 90). When the user enters the field, they gain a random song for 10 seconds. One song increases ATK by 60%, while the other buffs Elemental DMG by 48%. The last possible song increases Elemental Mastery by 240. All these effects are good for Varesa and, even the EM buff that isn’t vital to her kit can see her deal more damage through Elemental Reactions inGenshin Impact.

Alternatively, you could use the 4-star Flowing Purity catalyst with Varesa. It offers a low base ATK stat (565 at level 90) and a generic ATK sub-stat (27.6%). When they use a Skill, All Elemental DMG Bonus is increased by 8% for 15 seconds, and a Bond of Life worth 24% of their Max HP is granted. When Bond of Life is cleared, every 1,000 HP cleared provides a 2% All Elemental DMG Bonus, up to 12%. This catalyst requires a healer to clear Bond of Life and is the worst among the best weapons for Varesa inGenshin Impact.
Best Artifacts & Stats For Varesa
Stat-Wise, Varesa Is A Very Traditional Electro DPS
The best Artifact set for Varesa is Long Night’s Oath, which was released in Version 5.5 alongside her. The set’s two-piece bonus offers a convenient 25% buff to Plunging Attack DMG. With the four-piece bonus, when the user’s Plunging Attack/Charged Attack/Elemental Skill hits an enemy, they gain 1/2/2 stacks of Radiance Everlasting. Each type of attack can trigger the effect once every second. Radiance Everlasting buffs DMG dealt by Plunging Attacks by 15% for six seconds, up to five stacks. As a Natlan character, Varesa could equip theObsidian Codex set inGenshin Impactfor the extra 40% CRIT Rate.
I’ve Seen The Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks, & I’m Convinced The Spiral Abyss Update Will Essentially Block The Best DPS Characters
The lineup for Spiral Abyss' Floor 12 starting in Genshin Impact 5.5 has leaked and, if true, it will make some of the best DPS characters unusable.
When farming Artifacts, prioritize a high CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate distribution (2:1 ratio, preferably) and ATK, as these will enhance her DMG output. If you can, use a Goblet that provides Electro DMG Bonus – if not, use one with ATK. Some Energy Recharge is recommended, too, so as to keep her Burst available, and Elemental Mastery can enhance the power of her Electro-based reactions, based on the team you build.

Best Team Comps For Varesa
Varesa Is A Versatile Character
Varesa is a very versatile DPS, which makes her suitable for various team comps.A hypercarry team comp in which she is aided by Xianyun for Plunging Attack buffs, and Xilonen or Iansan for RES Shred or ATK buffs is ideal, but you can insert her into traditional parties, too. Know that, as a Natlan character, Varesa has great synergy with other Natlan characters that grant effects based on the team’s Nightsoul mechanics, so she goes along well with Mavuika, Iansan, andXilonen inGenshin Impact.
The table below lists a few team comp suggestions for Varesa:

F2P Team
As an Electro character, Varesa could also lead Electro-Charged, Aggravate, and Hyperbloom team comps, depending on who you choose to accompany her. If you prefer any of these, you can substitute Mavuika for Nahida or Yelan, for instance, even if you disregard Nightsoul mechanics in the process.
Talent Priority For Varesa
Her Normal Attack Talent Dictates The Power Of Her Plunging Attacks
When upgrading her Talents, the first priority in Varesa’s kit is her Normal Attacks – these dictate the power of her Plunging Attacks, and, seeing that this is the core aspect of her damage output, it should be leveled up to the maximum first. After that, both her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst should be leveled up at the same pace inGenshin Impact. Both are very important to her rotation, so one should not take priority over the other.
Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks: New Boss Combat Event Should Test Everyone’s Team Comp Strategies
The newest Genshin Impact 5.5 leaks have reported a new boss-centered combat event that should challenge your team comp-building strategies.
Despite being a DPS focused on Plunging Attacks, Varesa is a very traditional DPS when it comes to her build, so aside from gear boosting Plunging Attacks, her damage is reliant on classic stats. With the exception of the grind involved in finding a good CRIT balance when farming randomized Artifacts, it shouldn’t be too hard to turn Varesa into a powerful Electro DPS inGenshin Impact.
