As you enter the final stages of a campaign ofSid Meier’s Civilization 7and begin the Modern Age, the final four Legacy Paths unlock the final Victory Conditions in the game. These four Legacy Paths follow the same categories as previous Ages, except there are no Golden Age bonuses as rewards due to no additional Ages after a Victory. Legacy Paths in the Modern Age are as follows: Railroad Tycoon (Economic), Ideology (Military), Space Race Projects (Science), and Geographic Society (Culture). Completing these paths unlocks the Great Bank, Operation Ivy, First Staffed Space Flight, and World’s Fair Victory projects.

Every Legacy Path requires utilizing the unique Modern Age features, such as Factories, Ideologies, etc. Tracking opponents' progress along these Legacy Paths is critical in the Modern Age as this will indicate how close other civilizations are to unlocking a Victory project. As with the previous Ages, each milestone a leader reaches progresses the Age by a certain number of turns. If nobody completes a Victory Condition before the end of the Age, the game will default to aScore Victory inCiv 7, which is based on Legacy Points accrued over the entirety of the campaign. Here’s a look at how to unlock all Victory Conditions.

Manufacture Goods To Unlock The Economic Victory

The Economic Legacy Pathin the Modern Age culminates in the World Bank Project and requires manufacturing 500 Factory Resources in your empire’s trade network. Factory Resources are unique Modern Age resources that can only be slotted into a city or town containinga factory and a railroad connected to the capital. To do this, you will need to research the appropriate technologies to unlock Rail Stations and Factories: Industrialization and Mass Production. Once researched, a Rail Station constructed in a Settlement will automatically build railroads to Settlements with another Rail Station as long as an existing road connects it.

How To Complete All Legacy Paths In Civ 7’s Antiquity Age

The four Legacy Paths in Civilization 7’s Antiquity Age include the Cultural Wonders of the Ancient World and Military Pax Imperatoria.

After constructing a Rail Station, a Factory needs to be built, and once the railroads connect to another city,Factory Resources can be assigned in the Resource Management menu.Because Rail Stations need to connect to the capital city, Factories built on continents separated by water will not be able to slot their Resources. For this reason, changing your capital location at the beginning of the Modern Age might be the best strategic choice depending on how many towns or cities are within range. Assigning more of the same Resource to a Factory increases Railroad Tycoon points, with 500 needed to complete the path.

Conquering Settlements From Different Ideologies Awards More Points

The MilitaryLegacy Path in the Modern Ageunlocks the Operation Ivy Victory Project and incorporates a Modern Age-specific feature called Ideologies. Ideologies are unique Civic Trees that include Democracy, Fascism, and Communism. The Ideology Legacy Path requires 20 pointsearned from conquering Settlements for the first time, and more points are earned per Settlement based on the Ideologies of the two leaders. Ideologies are acquired by studying the Political Theory of Civic and then studying the specific Civic Tree of choice. Once you’ve established an Ideology, conquered Settlements count as two points.

Civ 7: How To Take Advantage Of Dark Ages

Civilization 7 players can take advantage of a unique and interesting Dark Ages bonus in each Legacy Path, but they come at a cost.

However, settlements owned by leaders from an opposing Ideologyaward three points toward the Ideology Legacy Path, making this the most efficient method for unlocking Operation Ivy and securing a Military Victory. The Democracy Ideology focuses on Diplomatic and Cultural attributes, Fascism focuses on Economic and Militaristic, while Communism focuses on Expansionist and Scientific features. Consider the trajectory your biggest adversaries are going down and keep an eye on their chosen Ideology, as it’s best to strike after they have selected an opposing Ideology.

Complete Space Race Projects To Unlock The Science Victory

Three Projects Must Be Completed To Win The Space Race

The Scientific Legacy Path in the Modern Age is a franchise staple: the Space Race Projects. This Legacy Path unlocks the First Staffed Space Flight project and requires the completion of three major Space Race projects before that point. These include theTrans-Oceanic Flight, Break the Sound Barrier, and Launch Satelliteprojects to be completed in your empire. To do so, you’ll need to unlock the specific Technologies associated with these projects and begin Production toward each project in a given city. This takes a set number of turns based on Production levels in the chosen city, so select a location carefully.

Completing Legacy Paths in every Age will speed up the time it takes to complete Victory Conditions in the Modern Age after finishing the designated Legacy Path.

Trans-Oceanic Flight is unlocked after researching the Flight Tech and building an Aerodome in a city. To unlock Break the Sound Barrier, you’ll need to research Aerodynamics, while the Launch Satellite project requiresresearch into the Rocketry Tech. After researching Rocketry, you’ll need to build a Launch Pad in a given city and begin the Launch Satellite Project. Once completed, the First Staffed Space Flight project can be started, taking several turns based on how many Scientific Legacy points you’ve accumulated across the Ages (this is true for all Victory Condition projects).

House Artifacts To Unlock The Culture Victory

Explorers Collect Artifacts From Previous Ages

The Cultural Legacy Path in the Modern Age gives you access to the World’s Fair Victory Condition and requires sending out Explorer units to research and excavate artifacts from previous Ages across the map.Artifacts are the Modern Age Great Works, and Explorers must study at a University or Museum to gain access to both the Antiquity and Exploration Age Artifacts. This requires physically sending them to a tile with a University or Museum building. Afterward, Explorers can be sent out the various indicated Artifact locations and take several turns to excavate the Artifact.

Civ 7: How To Win A Cultural Victory With Catherine The Great

Catherine the Great can achieve Civilization 7’s Cultural Victory with Greece, Norman, and Russia as her civilizations of choice during each Age.

Artifacts are housed in Great Work slots, which function the same as previous Ages, with certain buildings capable of being pillaged and losing the Artifact entirely. Explorer units can excavate multiple Artifacts, butthere is a limited number from each Age on the map, and there is no way currently to acquire Great Works from other Civilizations aside from conquering Settlements with Great Works. Artifacts can also be acquired from Overbuilding and from random Narrative Events throughout the Modern Age. Once you have 15 Artifacts slotted, building the World’s Fair Wonder will award a Cultural Victory inCivilization 7.
