AfterPower Rangers in Space, continuity became even less important for the show as every season would now be truly standalone stories with little to no connections to previous teams. For decades, it was easy to predict what the nextPower Rangersseries was going to be like simply based on what the latestSentaiseason had been.Power Rangersrecently started to take more creative libertiesregarding theSentaiadaptations, such as skipping seasons or only using Japanese footage for Megazord battles like inCosmic Fury. While the report also mentions that the project is expected to continue with a new creative partner, it is difficult to predict where the show will go. A more traditionalPower Rangersseason 31 in the style ofCosmic Furycannot be ruled out, but I would prefer the franchise to use this period of transition to try something new. This includes a potential reboot of the TV show.
WhileI would love forPower Rangersto return to the big screenafter the underrated 2017 movie sadly bombed at the box office, I believe the future of the saga currently lies in television.Power Rangershas a lot of untapped potential despite having been on TV almost uninterruptedly for 30 years. For example, there has yet to be an animatedPower Rangersseries. Additionally, the comics have shown that evenMighty Morphin, which has always been the face of the franchise, can be reinvented into something fresh and exciting.
