Summary
While Apple TV+’s future appears to be fading fast, one of the platform’s best shows,Ted Lasso, may be in for a long wait before season 4.Ted Lassois easily one of my favorite shows to ever come from Apple, but season 3 gave the show a conclusion that felt incredibly final. Now, more than a year after season 3’s final episode, the Emmy award-winning show’s fate continues to hang in an uncertain balance with no official announcements about any future plans for the happy-go-lucky American football coach who became a pivotal part of the community in Richmond, England.
The show was undoubtedly brilliant, with spectacular writing that evokes emotion, and moments that brought the audience low, before giving them a reason to jump out of their chairs celebrating the teams' big wins on and off the field. However, one actor from the series believes the show will continue, but theirprediction doesn’t bode well forTed Lassoseason 4because theysuggest it could be as many as 20 years before the story continues. Unfortunately, despite the show’s high quality, I don’t know if it could endure that much of a gap between seasons.

Is AFC Richmond A Real Team? What Ted Lasso’s Football Club Is Based On
Ted Lasso’s football club, AFC Richmond, is so believable and even has merchandise so that American fans may wonder if it’s actually a real team.
I Hope Ted Lasso Star Moe Hashim Is Wrong About Season 4 Taking 20 Years To Happen
The Prediction Seems Incredibly Unlikely
Moe Hashim plays the footballer, Moe Bumbercatch, inTed Lasso, who plays for AFC Richmond. And while discussing another show withThe Direct, hesuggested thatTed Lassocould come back, but with one significant caveat, “[I don’t] think this is the end of Ted Lasso. It could be in 20 years time that [we] come back.” While this could be a way for the story to continue, it feels like completely the wrong approach to continuing the story for the characters and us.
While some TV shows do end up having a reunion or reboot decades on, this isn’t typically planned ahead of time. And there isno guarantee thatTed Lasso’spopularitywill endurefor so long, especially when the show was only streaming for three seasons. Not to mention the fact that the state of streaming is already something that has changed a lot in recent years, with new platforms opening up, and others beginning to wind down.

Why Ted Lasso Shouldn’t Wait So Long To Return To Apple TV+
Ted Lasso Deserves A Season 4
In fact, Apple TV+ is one of the platforms that has actively stated that it will be majorly stepping down in scale considering the hundreds of millions invested in making original shows (viaThe Verge), while the streamer remains far less successful than competitors such as Netflix. If Apple TV+ does choose to leave the streaming game, there isno guarantee about whereTed Lassocould end up, if it ends up going anywhere, despite its incredible success and popularity with viewers who have tuned in.
IfTed Lassowants to keep up the momentum, and get the best out of the actors, with the highest number of returning cast, it’s better for the show to come back sooner rather than later. The show’s popularity is likely to continue declining over time, and the actors will become occupied with other projects that will take the priority. So, if we want aTed Lassoseason 4, it needs to be soon, or the show needs to make a choice and definitively announce that the story is complete after three seasons.
