Summary

I need the revival ofWhite Collarto feature one particular moment after a big reveal in the original series' finale. Thoughupdates on theWhite Collarrevivalare scarce,I remain incredibly excited as this revival will allow the show’s amazing cast to return.Even with the series now on Netflix, the prospect of seeing these characters play off each other in new situations is both thrilling as a fan and fascinating storywise, especially considering the state in which we left these characters in the finale.

WhenWhite Collarended in season 6, it left things both wrapped up as far as character arcs but largely left a door open in case the series was ever renewed. Some details from that finale are even more bittersweet now, such as where we left Mozzie as his actor, Willie Garson, passed in 2021.However, one detail from the finale could allow theWhite Collarrevival to feature an adorable moment between Neal and one other character whose introduction can create some much-needed catharsis.

The 1 Question White Collar’s Reboot Absolutely Needs To Answer

There’s one lingering question from the original USA Network procedural show that the upcoming White Collar revival should finally clarify.

The White Collar Revival Needs To Feature Neal Meeting Neal Burke

Peter Named His Son After Neal In The Finale Episode “Au Revoir”

White Collar’s revival needs to feature Neal (Matt Bomer) meeting Neal Burke as it would add to the sweetness of the initial reveal in the finale.Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen) revealed that she was pregnant to Peter (Tim DeKay) during the show’s final season, which allowed the otherwise tense story to have elements of joy for these characters. That joy, unfortunately, was short-lived as Neal ended up faking his death in the finale to escape the Pink Panthers, who threatened to hurt those he loved.

It would be adorable to see Neal realize how much he means to Peter and Elizabeth, as he questions his position with them throughout the original series.

Peter. Elizabeth, Diana, and their son in White Collar

During the episode’s year-time skip,we learn that the Burkes' baby was also named Neal as a homage to their friend.Considering his name and Neal’s natural affinity with children, the first interaction between the two Neals is definitely something Iwant to see inWhite Collar’s revival. It would be adorable to see Neal realize how much he means to Peter and Elizabeth, as he questions his position with them throughout the original series. In that same vein, meeting Neal Burke could also force Neal to confront the strain his fake death created on those very relationships.

How That Meeting Can Expand On Neal’s Relationships Post-Finale

Neal Could Be Forced To Realize What He Left Behind

This meeting between Neal and Neal Burke could expand on some of the relationships Neal left behind in the finale, allowing for a moment of catharsis. TheNeal afterWhite Collar’s endingis likely to be different from the Neal who faked his death, which may cause some initial strain. As a result,Peter and Neal should have a moment to address that strainand cathartically vent the fear, anger, and relief they feel at returning to their status quo. Meeting Neal Burke could trigger that moment as it dawns on Neal what and who he left behind.

Peter and Neal’s relationship would not be the only one in need of this catharsis.Elizabeth and Neal were also close during the original show, so having them discuss that strain as well would be pertinent as the two reconcile the people they knew with the ones before them. This would be especially important if the main mystery follows them home, placing the two in danger asWhite Collar’s revival showcases how you can never truly outrun or outcon the past.
