There are a few types of Battle Plugs available inMario & Luigi: Brothership. One type is Defense, which will help the brotherswithstand enemy attacks. One such defensive Battle Plug is the Damage Shield Battle Plug. Damage Shield is unlocked after defeating Mega Snaptor as part of the main story. Kaboom Attack is an Offensive Battle Plug and one of the best Battle Plugs to use,especially for combos. Kaboom Attack is one of the building blocks to creating an excellent combo attack. For example, you can pair it with Attack Boost to generate more impact waves. Kaboom Attack can also be paired with Surprise Iron Ball to generate a wide area of effect with a rainstorm of iron balls.

Equipping the right Battle Plugs can create devastating combos. However, these combos aren’t laid out for you, and you’ll have to experiment to find the best one.

You’ll receive 10 charges per cycle with Kaboom Attack. Unfortunately, it does take 30 turns to recharge. However, when used correctly, you should be able to wipe out your enemies easily before using up the full 10 charges. Unless, of course, you’re going against a challenging boss.

7Surprise Iron Ball

Rain Down Iron Balls From The Sky

If you’re a fan of offensive attacks, then the Offensive Battle Plug Surprise Iron Ball should be right up your alley. You’ll need to score anExcellent ratingwith a Jump or Hammer attack for it to work, but when you do, expect aniron ball to fall on your targetand deal even more damage. This Offensive Battle Plug is another token you’ll receive after beating Desolatt Island’s Ten.

There are three types of Battle Plugs: Offense, Defense, and Utility. Offensive is for attacking, Defensive is for defending, and Utility is for automatically using resources or giving you certain boosts.

Surprise Iron Ball is another staple in Battle Plug combos. Some of the best combos includepairing Surprise Iron Ball with Attack Boost or even with itself. When paired with Attack Boost, the Iron Balls that fall onto your enemies will be even more devastating as Attack Boost deals an additional Hammer or Jump Attack. Pairing Surprise Iron Ball with itself, which you’re able to do by crafting 17 Battle Plugs to unlock a second Surprise Iron Ball, you can drop even more of these hurtful balls on your target.

Surprise Iron Ball is a great Offensive Battle Plug, especially if you’ve mastered getting Excellent Jump or Hammer attacks. With up to 10 charges, you can drop plenty of surprise iron balls on your targets. It’ll also take 30 turns to recharge.

6Dizzifying Attack

Make Your Enemies Dizzy

Defeating Ten on Desolatt Island inMario & Luigi: Brothershipunlocks yet another Offensive Battle Plug—Dizzifying Attack. With this Battle Plug, the damage dealt by Jump and Hammer attacks isincreased by 15%. That’s not all, though. For a double whammy, if you receive an Excellent rating, Dizzifying Attack has the chance tomake your target dizzy.

5Auto Mushroom

Low on health? Don’t worry, there’s a Battle Plug for that! As the first Utility Battle Plug on the list, Auto Mushroom is one of the best Utility Battle Plugs you can get, especially if you take a lot of damage during battles. When your HP becomes too low, a mushroom will automatically be used, restoring some HP and keeping Mario and Luigi alive a little bit longer.

In the beginning, you’ll have two Battle Plug sockets to equip two different Battle Plugs. Over time, you will earn more sockets, allowing you to equip even more Battle Plugs.

So, where do you pick this Utility Battle Plug up? After beating Ten on Desolatt Island, of course!

Unfortunately, the Auto Mushroom only comes withfive charges per cycle. It also takes 20 turns to recharge. While you won’t be able to overly rely on the Auto Mushroom, it’s still a lovely Battle Plug to have equipped.

The Anti-Flying Specialist Battle Plug is one of severalSpecialist Battle Plugs,but it still falls under the Offense category. What makes this Battle Plug special is that it works best against a certain type of enemy. In this case, you’ll want to use this Battle Plug againstflying enemies.

When used against flying enemies likeMario & Luigi: Brothership’sMega Snaptor, like inAMHarbinger’svideo, your Jump attacks areguaranteed to land critical hits. Unlocking this Battle Plug is a bit different from previous ones. To get your hands on the Anti-Flying Specialist Battle Plug, head to theBattle Plugs menuand craft four Battle Plugs. Doing so will unlock the Anti-Flying Specialist to use.

3Empower Counters

Turn Jump Counters Into Ground Pounds

Empower Counters is yet another Defensive Battle Plug. With this one, jump counters are turned into ground pounds, and hammers arecharged up to deal 30% more damageduring counterattacks. So, essentially, you could call this a Defensive and Offensive Battle Plug.

Obtaining Empower Counters requires more crafting. Head into the Battle Plugs menu. You’ll need tocraft four Battle Plugsto unlock Empower Counters. You’ll also need30 Sprite Bulbs, which are found in various locations throughoutMario & Luigi: Brothership.

Unlocking Loot Booster means heading back into the Battle Plugs menu. You’ll need to craft another four Battle Plugs from here to unlock it. Plus, you’ll need a total of30 Sprite Bulbs. It’s certainly not cheap, but getting the extra loot is worth it.

1Back-Atcha Attack
