No, Billy Isn’t Looking For Scarlet Witch

Billy Is Looking For His Brother

One of the most prominent theories heading intoAgatha All Alongwas that Billy Maximoff, Wanda Maximoff’s son, was searching for his mother. Many believed that his hidden identity and his involvement in the storyhinted at a larger plot involving Scarlet Witch, particularly in the aftermath ofDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where Wanda’s fate was left somewhat uncertain.

Agatha All Along Episode 6 Easter Eggs & Marvel References

Agatha All Along episode 6 is full of exciting Easter eggs and MCU references back to the events of WandaVision as Teen’s past is finally revealed.

This theory seemed plausible, as Billy’s powers were intricately connected to his mother’s magic, and audiences speculated that he might beseeking her out to repair the fractured family dynamicfollowing the events ofWandaVision, seeking a way to bring his mother and father back. However, episode 6 shattered this idea by revealing that Billy is not looking for his mother at all. Instead, he is searching for his brother, Tommy Maximoff, who was also a victim of the Westview fallout.

This pivot shifted the emotional core of Billy’s journey, focusing on sibling love rather than a reunion with his mother. The revelation clarified why Billy’s identity was kept secret for so long - to prevent Agatha or others from realizing that he was on a mission to find Tommy. This turned the entire theory on its head, showing that the show’s emotional stakes were rooted in sibling bonds rather than a parental reunion.

Billy’s Boyfriend Is Eddie, Not Hulkling

Billy’s Boyrfriend Is Named Eddie

AnotherAgatha All Alongtheory that has been circulating involved Billy’s romantic life, particularly the introduction of his boyfriend. In the comics, Billy Maximoff, also known as Wiccan, has a longstanding relationship with Hulkling (Theodore Altman), a half-Kree, half-Skrull superhero. Hulkling’s introduction into the MCU has been eagerly anticipated, particularlyconsidering his position as one of the Young Avengers- who the MCU have been slowly introducing.

EarlyAgatha All Alongepisodes seemed to support this theory, particularly when Billy’s phone rang with a contact saved as “Boyf.” This prompted many to assume that hisboyfriend inAgatha All Alongwas indeed Hulkling. However, episode 6 debunked this theory byrevealing that Billy’s boyfriend is named Eddie, not Theodore.

Ralph Bohner (Evan Peters) reveals to William that Wanda had two children in Agatha All Along Season 1 Episode 6

Eddie appears to have no connection to Hulkling or the Skrull/Kree conflict, nor does he exhibit any superpowers resembling those of Hulkling. That said, it’s worth noting that Eddie could still be short for Theodore, or that the show issetting up a red herring to mislead viewersbefore a future reveal. However, for now, it seems most likely that Billy’s love interest is an entirely new character, putting to rest the theory that Hulkling would appear inAgatha All Along.

Agatha All Along Didn’t Debut Mephisto

Mephisto Has Been Hotly Anticipated In The MCU

Mephisto is one of the most hotly anticipated characters in the MCU, with the potential to be one of the biggest villains in the franchise. Mephisto is Marvel’s answer to the Devil, often orchestrating evil events throughout the Marvel universe. Many suspected that Mephisto was the true mastermind behind the events ofAgatha All Alongand that he would finally make his debut in the MCU. The theory gained traction as the showhinted at dark forces influencing the characters, particularly Billy Maximoff.

Teen’s Powers In Agatha All Along Explained

Agatha All Along finally revealed the identity of Teen, and he might be powerful enough to fundamentally alter the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A popular theory proposed that Mephisto had told Billy about Agatha’s role in Westview and manipulated him into seeking revenge. However,Agatha All Alongepisode 6 revealed that it wasn’t Mephisto pulling the strings at all - it was Ralph Bohner. Ralph was the slacker from Westview whom Agatha forced into posing as Wanda’s brother, Pietro, during the events ofWandaVision. Ralph wasfar from the cunning, malevolent force viewers were expecting. Instead, he is a rather pathetic individual still reeling from his experience in Westview.

The sigil of Billy Maximoff in Agatha All Along Season 1 Episode 6

Rather than the scheming evil genius orchestrating events inAgatha All Along, it was Ralph who informed Billy about the events inWandaVision, instigating his mission to find Agatha. This revelation was fun and wholly unexpected, proffering the furthest possible character from Mephisto for this crucial role. This allowed for a delightful cameo from Evan Peters while also shutting down any lingering hopes that Mephisto would play a role in the series.

Pretty Much Every Theory About The Sigil Was Wrong

The Sigil Was Placed By Lilia

Since the beginning ofAgatha All Along, there has been significant speculation about the mysterious sigil that kept Billy Maximoff’s identity hidden. The sigil seemed to be a magical safeguard, prompting fervent debate over who could have placed it and why. One of the most popular theories suggested that Billy himself had created the sigil to keep his identity hidden from Agatha Harkness. Others speculated that the sigil was meant to protect Billy from external threats or to conceal him from larger magical forces, particularly afterTeen’s powers awakened inAgatha All alongepisode 5.

Agatha All Alongepisode 6 confirmed that all of these theories were wrong. It was not Billy who placed the sigil, nor was it an external force keeping him hidden. Instead, the sigil was placed by Lilia, one of the witches from Agatha’s make-shift coven. This was a surprising revelation, complicated further by the fact she placed the sigil on William’s body before he diedand Billy’s spirit took over.

While the episode didn’t fully explain why Lilia chose to hide Billy’s identity, the fact that Lilia’s specialism is divination wouldsuggest that she foresaw a need to keep him secret. Whether she was protecting him from Agatha, or perhaps even from himself, remains unclear. What is clear is that nearly every theory about the sigil’s origins and purpose was incorrect, leaving viewers with more questions than answers about Lilia’s motives inAgatha All Along.
