Ark: Survival Ascendedplayers who’ve lapsed may be tempted to finally return to the game since the latest patch adds a wealth of exciting new features. While the upgraded version ofSurvival Evolvedhas had a somewhat rocky post-launch experience, Studio Wildcard has done its best to listen to the audience and provide plenty of high-quality content updates that build on the already successful formula. The latest patch introduces a massive new biome and a major technical upgrade that should make the game smoother for everyone.
Per an official update onSurvival Ascended’s blog,Studio Wildcard confirmed that the highly anticipated Aberration Ascended map will be available in the game from September 4. If that wasn’t exciting enough, the patch also introduces theSteampunk Ascentexpansion forBob’s Tall Tales, allowing those with the DLC to explore even more of the strange world. Finally, AMD FidelityFX Frame Interpolation will likely be included in the patch, providing all players on console and PC a roughly 80% performance boost.

Aberration Ascended Is A Massive Deal
It’s Easily One Of The Most Popular Maps
While mostArkplayers are likely already familiar with Aberration asone of the most interesting maps in the game, Studio Wildcard wants to make it clear thatthe Ascended version is more a simple new environment. The developer describes it as “a complex ecosystem filled with dangers and beauty” contained within a sprawlingunderground world filled with new creaturesand biomes. This version will includethe community-voted creature Yi Ling, a fast and lethal raptor with the ability to climb walls, as a free addition.
As for Steampunk Ascent, the next chapter in Bob’s Tall Tales introduces perhaps the most exciting feature:Cosmo, a wrist-mounted spider that fires a line of webbing out like a grappling hook. This new “tool” can be used to navigateparticularly perilous environments while also looking like an adorable accessory. Additionally, the expansion also allows users to team up with Sir-5rM8, an automaton companion powered by steam and cogs.

Huge Ark: Survival Ascended Mod Makes The Oceans More Dangerous Than Ever
Ark: Survival Ascended players looking for more biodiversity in their oceans are in luck because a new mod introduces several new water creatures.
Tying this all together is the implementation of FidelityFX,a major piece of tech that should hopefully solve some of the technical hiccups the community has experiencedsinceArk: Survival Ascendedlaunched. The Unreal Engine 5.4 update is taking slightly longer than expected but with all this content, players should be happy for the next few months. Those who may have grown sick of the janky survival game may finally have the excuse they need to once again venture back into the wilderness.
