Creedstar Michael B. Jordan has revealed that he would be interested in makingCreed 4, but he has a critical condition for when he plans to make it. Jordan gained acclaim in the role of troubled but talented boxer Adonis “Donnie” Creed in theRockyfilm seriesspinoffCreed, which was released in 2015. The success of the film spawned two further sequels, withJordan also producing and directing the most recent installment, 2023’sCreed III, which became the highest-grossing entry in the series. Though the series looked to have concluded,Creed IIIleft scope to revisit the franchise.

Now, in an interview withGQ, theFruitvale Stationactor reveals that he would like to revisit the franchise for a fourth movie, and that he believes the conclusion of the third film left the door open to build on the franchise, and revisit it. However, theBlack Pantherstar was also keen to state that he plans to wait a while, and is not interested in making anotherCreedmovie for the sake of it, stating that he wants to “make peoplewant it, miss it a little bit.” Check out Jordan’s comments below:

Yeah, the fourth one, eventually, not sure when, but we left that door open to build on that franchise. My thing is like, I don’t wanna make a movie just to make it, give it a little time to breathe, make people want it, miss it a little bit. And when the time is right, I’ll drop in and do another one.

What Jordan’s Comments Mean For The Future Of Creed

He Seems To Have His Heart Set On Exploring The Character Again, But It Might Not Be For Some Time

The success of theCreedmovies means there is certainly an audience for the character, but Jordan’s comments show he doesn’t want to rush things. Donnie’s story feels like it’s reached a natural conclusion now, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other avenues to explore in the coming years.TheRockyfranchise was successfully resurrected by Sylvester Stallone years later, and worked when telling the story of an elderly Rocky unsure of his place in an ever-changing world, and Jordan’s experience working withStallone in the first twoCreedmovieswill help a lot with the franchise in the future.

I would expect theCreedfranchise to be put on hold for a while, ready to be revisited years later.

It feels like a resurrection or revival of theCreedfranchise some years down the road could be the play, in a similar vein to whatRocky Balboamanaged to do, picking up with Donnie and his family, and perhaps even having him train his successor. It feels like Jordan has a plan for the direction of the series, but is looking to take a break, focus on other projects, and return when he feels the time is right, and there is a story worth telling. This approach has stood theRockyfranchise in good stead over the years, and the same should be true here.

Our Verdict On The Chances ofCreed 4Happening

A Fourth Installment Seems Definite, But Expect A Long Hiatus

Jordan is one of the most interesting actors in Hollywood, and with his recent venture into directing, could be spending more time behind the camera too. Hiscareer is evolving, and he’s likely to want to try new projects, and push himself as a performer. This means I would expect theCreedfranchise to be put on hold for a while, ready to be revisited years later.MakingCreed 4could be used to mark a career renaissance for Jordan in the years to come, or as a strong entry in a compelling and ever-growing filmography.
