The Owner’s Pokémon feature is returning to thePokémon Trading Card Game, and the first set was officially revealed at Japan’s Champion’s League in Osaka. The event was streamed this weekend and featured plenty of exciting battles, but it also included a few sneak previews of what’s coming next for the TCG. Among these previews was the first look at a new set featuring a new coat of paint on an old feature.
The cover art and new Owner’s Pokémon cards for theBattle Partnersset have been revealed,as reported byPokéBeach. The reveal showed the Booster Pack, which will contain special Trainer’s versions of Pokémon, marking the return of the special Owner’s Pokémon type cards.Battle Partnerswill be released in Japan on January 24, and the cards are likely coming to the West on March 28 as part of theJourney Togetherset.

The return of Owner’s Pokémon to the TCG was revealed this past summer, along with the first cards to appear as the new iteration of the old mechanic. The cards will operate as special cards, only able to evolve from Owner’s Pokémon into other Owner’s Pokémon, and were introduced in the 2000 set,Gym Heroes.Some cards are already known to be coming to the set, includingLillie’s Clefairy ex, Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex, and N’s Reshiram (full art and regular) and Zoroark.

Pokemon TCG Pocket has reignited the general public’s interest in Pokemon trading cards, and it could mean a classic title could make a return.
Now, new details have been revealed aboutBattle Partners.The set will include 100 cards (excluding secret rares) and the trainers featured for Owner’s Pokémon so far are N, Lillie, Iono, and Hop. All the cards shown off in the event are the following:

Lillie’s Clefairy ex (holographic)
Iono’s Bellibolt ex (regular and full-art)

N’s Zoroark ex (holographic)
Levincia (trainer)
N’s Reshiram (regular and full-art)
N’s PP Up (trainer)
The pack cover art features Iono’s Bellibolt ex, N’s Zoroark ex, Lillie’s Clefairy ex, and Hop’s Zacian ex,and it seems likely that more trainers will be included in the set. The set’s featured trainer, though, is Iono, who will be featured in the set’s related accessories and promotional materials.

The list of trainers featured inBattle Partnersis already a long one, with Iono, N, Lillie, Hop, and Marnie officially included in the set. However,it seems likely that the list will continue to grow as more cards are revealedfor Japan’s January release. According to PokéBeach, thePokémoncompany has previously hinted at Arven’s Mabosstiff, Misty’s Psyduck, and Ethan’s Pichu potentially coming to the TCG.
Besides these trainers, there’s also a set calledThe Glory of Team Rocketthat will be released in Japannext Spring (and coming to the West under a different name at a later date). While there’s no word on whether this set will include Owner’s Pokémon,Pokémon Trading Card Gameplayers maysoon be able to wield many more trainer-specific cards from their favorite trainers.
