My Hero AcademiaSeason 7’s final episode shows not only the conclusion of theclash between Uraraka and Togabut also the return to the battlefield of one of the most iconic heroes in the franchise, the former Symbol of Peace, All Might, against no other than his destined enemy, All for One. This development surprises many fans, as All Might isn’t only quirkless but also has a fragile body due to his first fight against All for One; however, he was able to go back into action in the form of Armored All Might.

This was revolutionary inMy Hero Academia’s universe not only becauseAll Might gives quirkless people the opportunity to be active heroes, but also because it was a concept that hasn’t been suggested in the story so far, being the most similar one, the power suit of Mei Hatsune inMHAepisode 52, which was still clearly in the early stage of development and resembled more to a robotic exoskeleton than a battle armor. This raises the question aboutthe origin and functions of All Might’s suitand why it wasn’t something introduced before in the series.

My Hero Academia Finally Proved Why Killing All Might Early On Would Have Been a Massive Mistake

While some fans have felt All Might should’ve been killed off in My Hero Academia long ago, the latest episode proves why he’s still essential.

Armored All Might Is An Experimental Battle Suit Financed By The Symbol of Peace

The Armor Was Designed by Melissa Shield

After All for One killed Nana Shimura, the 7th OFA user, All Might went to the USA after graduating from UA to be far from the reach of the Demon Lord. All Might met the scientist David Shield, whose story was featured in the filmMy Hero Academia: Two Heroes, being his daughter Melissa, the one in charge of designing the armor. The origin of All Might’s new armor and the reason why he didn’t use it beforewere explained in an extra fromMy Hero Academia’s volume 39.

However, All Might was a pioneer in requesting the design of a battle suit, but since heroes didn’t have much time before the war,it was a rushed delivery, so the suit didn’t pass the correct safety testing process, making it dangerous to use, which showed All Might’s will to sacrifice to stop All for One.

Armored All Might’s Features Are Based on Class-1A Students' Quirks

All Might’s Based its Armor Design on the People Beloved to Him

The armor that All Might uses during his battle against All For One is inspired by those important to the former symbol of peace, since its support items are based on his students' quirks and named after their hero names, except for Deku, since All Might uses the name of his quirk and attack. Also,All Might paid homage to Nana Shimura, his mentor and mother figure, by using the colors of her suit in the armor, black and gold.

The battle suit has more than 20 support items and gadgets that work in tandem with his armored car, Hercules. Hercules is the latest version of the Allmobile, a vehicle developed and driven by David Shield during his time as All Might’s sidekick. As an upgraded version, Hercules can withstand explosions, as seen in the grenade it took in episode 133, and it also has a navigation system as it counts with an A.I. able to provide aid during battle. Hercules features allow it to record and broadcast, deploy items, launch projectiles, and even work as equipment for the battle suit itself.

All Might’s Battle Suit and Super Car Are References To Beloved Western Heroes

My Hero AcademiaIs Heavily Inspired by DC and Marvel’s Comics

My Hero Academiahas numerous references to Western comics. All Might, with his red, white, and blue costume and his superhuman strength during his peak with One for All, has often been compared to heroes like Captain America or Superman. However, Armored All Might is a clear reference to the heroes Iron Man and Batman. All Might’s armor suit is strikingly similar to Tony Stark’s armor, as the way they deploy is alike, and features a user interface and A.I. like Jarvis, which has made many fans refer to him as Iron Might.

Additionally, its dark color and design also resemble Batman and his super car, asHercules is based on the Batmobile. However, the biggest trait that Armored All Might have in common with both beloved heroes, is that, even without powers or super strength, they risk their lives to stop the villains. This makesArmored All Mightan inspiring hero, but his outcome is still yet to be revealed inMy Hero Academia Final Season, which has already confirmed its release window.
