The Frog Is A Psychological Thriller Starring Sweet Home’s Go Min-si

Go Min-si plays Yoo Seong-a In The Frog

The Frogwas released on Netflix on June 18, 2025. It tells two separate stories of people whose lives changed forever after murderers were committed in their respective motels.Go Min-si plays Yoo Seong-a, an artist from a wealthy family who checks in at Jeon Young-ha’s vacation homealongside a child. However, once Seong-a leaves the hotel by herself, Young-ha starts to question what happened to the child. Things get even more sinister once Go Min-si’s character returns to the motel around a year later and acts as if nothing has happened.

WhileThe Frog’s two separate stories may seem disconnected at first, they address the same themes.

How Go Min-si’s New K-Drama Is Different From Sweet Home

The Frog Is A Dark Thriller With A Lot Of Twists

Go Min-si’s newestNetflix K-dramais very different fromSweet Home, although they both can be described as horror shows. The Frogis more of a psychological horror, though, as it plays with suspense and makes viewers question what is real or not. The show has a lot of unreliable narrators, including Seong-a, to the point things only truly make sense at the end.The Frogjumps back and forth between 2001 and 2024 and uses its non-linear narrative to highlight the parallels between the two stories.Sweet Home, on the other hand, is a more fantastical show.

Youth of May (2021)

The Witch: Part 1 - The Subversion(2018)

Myung-hee

Between monsters and curses,Sweet Homecan hardly be described as a realistic K-drama. Although the Song Kand-led series has a lot of violence, it’s still set in a fantastical universe where even resurrection seems possible. That said,The Frogis also quite violent and features some gruesome scenesthat are arguably more disturbing than anything inSweet Home. Go Min-si’s character inThe Frogcould not be more different from Eun-yu, with the latter presenting herself as a cold, vengeful person who is willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants.

Go Min-si Has Given Two Great Performances In 2024 K-Dramas

Sweet Home 3 And The Frog Were Both Great

BetweenSweet Home 3andThe Frog, Go Min-si has had a great 2024.Sweet Home’s final season thankfully focused more on the Green Home survivors than on the new characters in the stadium, meaning Eun-yu was given more to do.She also interacted a lot with Song Kang’s Cha Hyun-suandLee Do-hyun’s Lee Eun-hyeokafter being away from them for a year. The interactions between Eun-yu, Hyun-su, and Eun-hyeok were arguably the best thing aboutSweet Homebut were missing from season 2. Eun-yu became a neohuman in the finale but with hopes of learning how to have feelings again.

Sweet Home’s seasons 2 and 3 were filmed back-to-back.

InThe Frog, Go Min-si gets to play a very complex characterwhose actions are virtually impossible to comprehend. There seem to be no redeemable qualities about Seong-a, with the character acting viciously and threatening at every moment. The Frogis already a standout in Go Min-si’s career. Despite having been in great shows likeLove AlarmandYouth of May, she had yet to play a character as complex as Seong-a. The fact thatThe Frogdropped shortly afterSweet Home 3highlights Go Min-si’s range, with two radically different roles releasing back-to-back on Netflix
