The future of Elektra in theMarvel Cinematic Universegets an update from one of the Marvel Studios executives. As Phase 5 is getting closer to its end, the next project coming out of Marvel Studios istheDaredevil: Born AgainTV show, continuing the stories of the Marvel-Netflix characters. With characters from the Netflix properties being canon to the MCU, there are still a handful of players whose futures have yet to be revealed, including Elektra Natchios.
During a new interview forDaredevil: Born Againseason 1 withEntertainment Weekly, executive producer Sana Amanat was asked if there is any possibility of seeing Elodie Yung return to the MCU as Elektra, following her time in Netflix’sDaredevilandThe Defenders. Without getting too specific about the details,Amanat stressed that comebacks from both Elektra and the Hand are something that is on Marvel Studios' mind, as she shared the following:

One-hundred percent it’s in the back of our heads. Eventually we’ll try to figure out a bit more with that.
What Sana Amanat’s Elektra Comments Mean For Daredevil: Born Again
Ever since the ending ofThe Defendersseason 1,the MCU timelinehas never addressed what happened to Elektra, leaving the door open for a future storyteller to continue her arc. Even though it has been presumed among the characters that Elektra passed away duringThe Defenders, Amanat’s update supports the idea that she could still be alive. Given the nature ofDaredevil: Born Again, which takes place several years afterDaredevilseason 3, quite a lot of time has passed, meaning there would need to be a big explanation for where Elektra has been this entire time if she returned.
When it comes to The Hand, it is hard to imagine how they would be factored intoDaredevil: Born Againor other MCU properties, given howthe Marvel-Netflix showsexplored them as heavily as they did. Unless they get revived as an organization with a whole new premise,The Hand feels like a chapter that has naturally come to its end. There are other villains, especially in the Daredevil lore, that would be far more interesting to see Matt Murdock and Elektra explore together.

Our Take On Sana Amanat’s Elektra Comments
Time will tell, based on Amanat’s Elektra update, when fans may see her back in the MCU, whether it is inDaredevil: Born Againor a different Marvel Studios series. Given that Yung is open to reprisingElektra in the MCU, there are hopefully at least some discussions happening behind the scenes. But for now, fans can soon catch Matt’s next MCU chapter withDaredevil: Born Againto see what’s in store for this corner of the franchise, with the first two episodes of the series premiering on March 4.
