During VALORANT’s fifth anniversary video, fans caught brief glimpses of what appears to be a brand-new map. Here is what we know about it.
VALORANT just released the official video to celebrate its five-year anniversary. The video features an overview of various events, iconic moments and players, new season updates, and the battle pass. Additionally, it includes brief glimpses of what appears to be the twelfth map coming to VALORANT.
New map in VALORANT
In the video, a strange and unfamiliar map suddenly appears, almost like a flash from Phoenix. If you’re one of those observant viewers, you might pause the video and replay it to try to figure out the details of this new location that looks like a new map in VALORANT. From the brief glimpses, it resembles Ascent, featuring orange bricks and an antique aesthetic.
We can also see trees with orange leaves, and the buildings are distinguished by their icy coverage with purple tips. From other angles, we see Phoenix arriving at the site, but we also see that there are other open spaces where Astra uses smokes. One is an entry, and the other looks like Haven’s heaven on the A site.

A new Team Deathmatch map in VALORANT?
Manyfans have been writing on Xthat the map looks like a possible Team Deathmatch one. If you don’t play VALORANT as much, Team Deathmatch is a “warm-up” mode where you play with a team and kill as many enemies as possible. It is exactly like the standard Deathmatch, but with teams playing it. However, VALORANT did not confirm whether this was either a standard map or a Team Deathmatch one. They dropped a few glimpses in the video and left it at that.

A new map is not surprising at all since VALORANT’s last releases were two agents: Tejo and Waylay, the latter one after Masters Bangkok. We can speculate that this new map might be coming after the Masters Toronto in June. We will wait for Riot Games to drop more information in the next weeks.
