Now that he has become a more integral part ofStar Wars: Skeleton Crew, I can finally say that I love Jude Law’s character. Initially, at least by the time ofSkeleton Crewepisode 1’s ending, the character had not yet made an appearance. This wisely allowed the younger members ofSkeleton Crew’s ensemble castto shine, solidifying them as solid characters in their own right. By the end of episode 2, though,Jude Law’s “Jedi” aka Crimson Jackwas introduced.
Naturally,Skeleton Crewepisodes 3 and 4 allowed the character to take more of a central role. That said, even episode 3 did not delve into his connection with the children as deeply, due to the introduction of Kh’ymm and the lingering mystery ofSkeleton Crew’s At Attintaking the focus. InSkeleton Crewepisode 4, however, Jude Law’sStar Warscharacter was given the most screen time yet, showcasing how truly brilliantly he plays off the other cast members and how refreshing a personality he really is.

Jude Law’s Mysterious Character Is Just Vibing For Me
His Personality Is Endlessly Endearing
To put it bluntly, Jude Law’s Jod Na Nawood/Crimson Jack is a personification of good vibes in aStar Warsstory. Law plays the character with effortless charm, meaning every time he is on screen it almost feels like the character is as familiar as a longstandingStar Warshero like Han Solo. That same swagger embodied by Harrison Ford for decades shines through in Law’s performance, only bolstered by how well he interacts with the other characters ofSkeleton Crew’s Onyx Cinder.
Everything We Know About The Onyx Cinder, Skeleton Crew’s Mysterious New Star Wars Starship
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’s entire story centers around a mysterious new starship called the Onyx Cinder: here is everything we know about it.
Skeleton Crewepisode 4 was a showcase of this, from the hilarious rivalry between him and SM-33 to the now-typical “Star Warsdad” trope allowing his connection to the show’s kids to be highlighted. In contrast to the often faceless Din Djarin, the gloomy Cassian Andor, or the stoic Ahsoka Tano,Jude Law’sSkeleton Crewcharacter is a breath of fresh air thanks to his big personality.Never have the comedic, simply enjoyable vibes been more prevalent than Jod Na Nawood’s response to being called inSkeleton Crewepisode 4:“You know what, just shoot me.”

The Mystery Of Jod Na Nawood Is Absolutely Thrilling
There Is More Story Beneath The Vibes
What makes Jude Law’sStar Warscharacter all the more compelling is how littleSkeleton Crewhas actually revealed about him thus far. The name of Jod Na Nawood is interchangeable with pirate Captain Silvo or Crimson Jack, and his connection to the Force - or even lack thereof - remains underdeveloped. This makes Law’s character one big mystery, making the fact he has madeStar Warsfans like him so effortlessly even more impressive.
A brief mention of Jod’s homeworld being like the ruined At Achrann adds even more intrigue to his character.

Usually, a character with this much mystery may lead to skepticism or distrust. With Jod, though, it adds to the allure of the character. Not only is the new character one who embodies the likable scoundrel attitude of Han Solo better than any otherStat Wars’long history but there is more beneath that surface that hints at a deeper story. Is he a survivor ofStar WarsOrder 66who avoided the Empire via a life of piracy? Is he simply a Force-sensitive scoundrel manipulating children for a score? Who knows - but we cannot wait to find out.
I Can’t Wait To See More Of Jude Law’s Character
The Future Looks Bright For Skeleton Crew
AsSkeleton Crewcontinues, the main excitement is learning more about Law’s character. His dubious history is evident, and the reveals - whatever they may be - promise to be satisfying regardless. Beyond that, though, simply seeing how Jod’s relationship with the kids ofSkeleton Crewdevelops is endlessly intriguing. As ofSkeleton Crewepisode 4’s ending, Jod already seems to be warming to the kids in a way that may expand beyond his need of them to reach At Attin.
Law’s character becoming more toxic in his manipulation of the kids that have become so lovable would be a surefire way of providing the show with a central antagonist…

Of course, where pirates are concerned, this can never be taken as a given.Skeleton Crewis without an outright villain so far, and Law’s character becoming more toxic in his manipulation of the kids that have become so lovable would be a surefire way of providing the show with a central antagonist. All of these possibilities are equally true, making the future of Jod Na Nawood all the more intriguing.
Beyond these elements, Jod’s history with his old pirate crew is yet to be fleshed out. The pirates, now led by Brutus, have not appeared in the show since the ending ofSkeleton Crewepisode 2. It is hard to imagine that they will let Jod escape as easily as he did, especially now with the promise of the supposed eternal treasure of At Attin in play. On almost every level, Jude Law’s newStar Warscharacter is very much at the center ofSkeleton Crewand serves as the show’s most intriguing element going forward.
