Episode #1114 had been receiving a lot of hype and attention for weeks, specifically one moment involving Garp, and that moment and beyond were perfectly sold as some of the best animationOne Piecehas to offer.

One Pieceepisode #1114 continued where the previous episode left off with SWORD attacking Pirate Island to save Koby. As with the last episode, SWORD had little difficulty handling the Blackbeard Pirates, and as shown in episode #1113,everything SWORD did was a pretense to Garp’s dynamic entry onto the scene.

What Happened In One Piece Episode #1114?

Produced By Toei Animation; Directed By Hazuki Omoya

One Pieceepisode #1114, “For the Beloved Pupil - The Fist of Vice Admiral Garp!,” continued where episode #1113 left off with SWORD launching an assault on Pirate Island to rescue Koby. Episode #1114 introduced Hibari, a Commander and subordinate to Koby who used special bullets to turn gunpowder into flowers, and Prince Grus, a Rear Admiral who used the Clay-Clay Fruit to create clay golems and further bolster their forces. Their combined powers continued to overwhelm the Blackbeard Pirates, and with Kujaku manipulating the buildings with the Whip-Whip Fruit,SWORD soon had the Blackbeard Pirates surrounded with no escape route.

With many of the Blackbeard Pirates caged like animals, Garp launched his assault by using his immense strength to blast the battleship he rode on into the air toward Pirate Island. Garp proudly declared Koby to be both the future of the Marines and his precious pupil, and from there,Garp attacked the Blackbeard Pirates with Galaxy Impact, a massive explosion of Haki that blew everyone away and nearly destroyed the entire island.

With the power of Garp’s Galaxy Impact and even more Marines attacking Pirate Island, everything was set for Koby to escape with his friends in peace. Before that could happen, though, former Marine Admiral turnedYonko Commander Kuzanappeared and froze Hibari solid, which forced Koby to accept that Kuzan was officially their enemy. Garp readied himself for a fight with Kuzan, and as he did,One Pieceepisode #1114 ended with the tease of a flashback to how Kuzan joined the Blackbeard Pirates, in the first place.

One Piece’s Anime Sets Up Its Next Big Fight

With howOne Pieceepisode #1114 ended, the anime is setting up its next big fight to be between Garp and Kuzan. Between the immense power both characters are known to have, in addition to the bond they have from their former master-student relationship,Garp and Kuzan’s fight will excel in both spectacle and emotional stakes. The former is especially likely since it was one of the many fights highlighted in the current opening theme, and with how fights like Luffy and Lucci andShanks and Kidplayed out, it’s sure to be just as great to watch.

One Piece Delivers On Another Incredible Episode

One Pieceepisode #1113 was an episode that fell short of the anime’s usual standards, but episode #1114 more than made up for that. The entire first half of the episode was building up to Garp’s Galaxy Impact, and sure enough, the sequence of Garp’s Galaxy Impact was another contender for the most gorgeous animation and direction in the history of theOne Pieceanime. The first true showing of Garp’s power was a major highlight of the Egghead Island arc in the manga, and the anime did a perfect job of bringing it to life.

Garp’s Galaxy Impact was the definite highlight of episode #1114, but the second half was also great to watch. The anime continues to do a great job of showing how terrifying Kuzan is as a pirate, and with the way the episode ended,One Pieceis generating a lot of excitement by teasing the reveal of how Kuzan joined the Blackbeard Pirates. Even without its most notable highlight,One Pieceepisode #1114 was great to watch, and episode #1115 is sure to be just as good, if not better.
