Eiichiro Oda and his team aretaking a breakfrom theOne Piecemanga, and judging by the beginning of the latest Elbaf arc, it may be for the best. However, the mysterious introduction to Luffy’s next chapter gained the attention of sharp-eyed fans who spotted several problems in the manga.Elbaf’s introductory chapter contains several artwork inconsistencies, causing theories that thenostalgic throwback toOne Piece’sfirst group of Straw Hats was trapped in a hallucination. Now that that proved not to be the case, those mistakes stand out in a series where they rarely happen, which is a sign that the upcoming break is needed.

One Piece’s Manga Team Needs A Break

Eiichiro Oda Has Produced 1130 Chapters Since 1997

Weekly Shonen Jump has published new chapters of Eiichiro Oda’sOne Piecefor over twenty-seven years. However, the legendary mangaka has been producing fewer chapters compared to his past output. Several breaks in recent memory are linked to the author recovering from minor surgery and taking time off to help ensure thatNetflix’sOne Piece Live-Actionserieshit the project out of the park. After theOne Piecechapter #1130 release, the manga will take another break, fortunately only for two weeks.

Recent Elbaf chapters revealed that Luffy and his crewmates were not hallucinating and were being held in a customized Giant prison. This revelation proved that the manga’s recent mistakes were not put there on purpose and somehow missed the multiple quality checks that chapters encounter before publication. Those inconsistencies might not have been there if Oda and his editors were more well-rested and able to catch the mistakesbefore they went in front of millions of eyes worldwide.

One Piece Fans Get Devastating News With Anime Hiatus Announcement

For the first time ever, the One Piece anime will be going on a long-term hiatus, much to the shock of fans.

At the start of Elbaf’s arc, several moments felt odd, including Luffy claiming to be too full to try new food and seeing things like weapons and costumes changing and disappearing between frames in chapter #1127. With so many oddities in a single chapter, many hardcore fans were convinced that the environment in which Nami woke up was false. Technically, the Straw Hats woke up in a false representation of Elbaf. However, legitimate art errors are a sign that the people normally in charge of spotting them missed them and need to recharge their batteries.

One Piece

Created by Eiichiro Oda, One Piece is a multimedia franchise that began as a manga series and follows the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates as led by Monkey D. Luffy. Luffy, an enthusiastic pirate with a thirst for adventure, is afflicted by a mysterious curse that gives him various powers he uses to protect himself and his friends. The manga eventually gave way to the anime series, with the two being some of history’s longest-running anime and manga series. Along with over fifty video games made over the years, the series entered the live-action world with Netflix’s 2023 adaptation.
