Pokémon GOhas released details ahead of its latest event, which is set to take place in February Scattered To The Winds. The event will feature shiny Pokémon debuts, wild spawn increases for related Pokémon, collection challenges, and a host of bonuses, making it one you do not want to miss. It follows the Beloved Buddies event, which saw the debut ofDhelmise in Pokémon GO.
Scattered To The Winds will take place fromTuesday, August 23, 2025, at 10 am local time until Thursday, July 06, 2025, at 8 pmlocal time. Despite only lasting for three days, players have a lot to look out for. All players can access most event elements without aticket inPokémon GO, but some further paid-for elements offer additional wild encounters and items.

New Shiny Pokémon To Catch
Unlike in the recentBeloved Buddies event, there are no new Pokémon for trainers to catch during the event. However, an evolution line does all make their shiny debuts inPokémon GO.For the event,Scatterbug will be available in its shiny form, with its two evolution stages,Spewpa and Vivillon, both also being available as shiny for the first time. The event sees anincrease in the shiny odds inPokémon GOfor certain Pokémon.
To evolve Scatterbug into Spewpa inPokémon GO, you will need 25 Scatterbug Candy and a further 100 to evolve it again into Vivillon.

Scatterbug has a unique capturing method inPokémon GOand can’t be found in the wild. You first need to open gifts from your friends in the game andpin postcards received from them to have a chance at encountering Scatterbug.

Five Pokémon With Increased Spawns
As part of the event inPokémon GO, a selection of Pokémon across generations will have increased spawns during the three days of the Scattered To The Winds event. This means that throughout the event, the five Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild while you are walking and playing. All of these are eitherBug-typesorFlying-types.While none of these are among the10 strongest Bug-type Pokémon, theyhave their uses.
All the boosted Pokémon have the potential to be found in their shiny form.

From Generation One,Caterpie, Pidgey, and Spearoware all features with increased spawns. AdditionalWurmple and Starlywill also be found more frequently in the wild. While none of these featured Pokémon are rare inPokemon GO, a number don’t regularly feature anymore due to the volume of types of Pokémon on offer in the game.

More XP, More Gifts, And More Lucky Pokémon
In addition to the increased spawns and debuting shiny Pokémon, there are a host of bonuses for all trainers that playPokémon GOduring the All Scattered To The Winds event. You will receive2x XP for every PokeStop you spinduring the event, with anyPokeStops that you spin for the first time netting you 5x XP.
To help your chances of finding a shiny Scatterbug, all players can open up to 40 gifts every day during the event. If you have purchased The Eggs-pedition Access February ticket, this number is further increased to 60. All trainers will also have an increased chance of encountering aShiny Pidgey.
