Pokemon TCG Pocket Golem card

10Golem

Giving Fighting Pokémon A Chance

Fighting-type Pokémon haven’t served much purpose so far inPokémon TCG Pocket, buta couple of new cards in Mythical Island make them viable. Golem’s new card is a powerhouse both on offense and on defense. His 160 HP means it will be able to take at least one attack from almost all opposing Pokémon, whilst its own attack, Guard Press, can do 120 damage. It also reduces the opponent’s next attack by 30, meaning it can take over battles if Golem comes into the active spot at the right time.

9Pokémon Flute

The Most Powerful Item Yet

The biggest game-changing item in the new expansion is Pokémon Flute. It allows you to bring a new basic Pokémon from your opponent’s deck onto the bench. While the majority of items are useful in set situations, only a handful are regularly used in the most popular decks. Combining this with Sabrina to then bring a Pokémon into the active spot can pick up a crucial point at any stage of a tight game.

8Leaf

Another Trainer That Can Cause Problems

Several useful Trainer Supporter cards have been added alongside the powerhouses of Misty and Blaine, and in the right deck, Leaf can make all the difference in battles. If you are playing decks with several Pokémon that require high retreat costs, Leaf can allow a quick change that otherwise would not be possible.

Aside from Leaf, players need to use the X-Speed card, which reduces the retreat cost by one.

Pokemon TCG Gyarados EX card

Leaf is especially useful if you have an ex card in your active spot but can’t afford for it to be potentially KO’d, as many of them have at least a two-retreat cost.

7Aerodactyl ex

Stopping Evolutions In Their Tracks

As already mentioned, Fighting-type cards haven’t been very effective so far inPokémon TCG Pocket, but Aerodactyl ex is a powerful option that can counter some key decks. His attack on Land Crush causes 80 damage and only costs 2 energy cards, making it a quick attacker. However, its ability, Primeval Law, is where it comes into its own. Itstops opponents from evolving their active Pokémon, which could be powerful against certain decks that need time to build.

Pidgeot decks challenged the metain the first set of cards and were one of the most underrated. However, its new ex version is even stronger. Like many of the other ex cards, it has a huge HP as well as a powerful attack. It does a base 80 damage, but if your opponent has a full bench, it will deal 140 damage for just three energy cards. It will only work in certain decks, but it is a great finisher if you have support cards that can quickly power it up.

Wash Outcan be performed by Vaporeon as soon as it is on the bench; it does not need to be in the active spot.

Wash Outallows you tomove any water energy cards between your Pokémonthat are active and on your bench. This can be used to quickly switch all the energy onto your most powerful water- types, such as Articuno ex or Gyrados ex, setting them up for their main attacks.

This would be enough to take out any Pokémon. In addition, its 130 HP prevents it from being able to be KO’d in one go apart from against the very elite opposition Pokémon.

1Serperior

The Ultimate Energy Provider

Most Pokémon you want to include in your decks are attackers with powerful offensive moves. However, support cards can be crucial to have any chance of setting up those attackers. Its ability means thatany grass energy card attached to a grass Pokémon is worth double.
