After watchingQueen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story,it is clear thatyoung Charlotte and Eloise have a lot in common, and yet the show also proves that Eloise’sBridgertonstory must end differently. First released in 2020,Bridgertonis a period drama that took Netflix by storm upon its premiere and has captivated audiences ever since. Over the course of three seasons,Bridgertonhas followed one ofthe Bridgerton siblingsas they find the love of their lives. Thus, with every passing installment, audiences are left wondering how the other siblings will fare in their own seasons.

Yet,Bridgertondid not stop at just the main series. In 2023, Netflix released a prequel spinoff series,Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, which followed thelove story between Queen Charlotte and King George III. This one-season series was just as successful as a regular season ofBridgerton, and better yet, it created some new connections betweenBridgerton’spast and present. It answered questions about Charlotte’s marriage, Lady Danbury’s position, and Violet’s past. The Parallel Between Eloise Bridgerton & Queen Charlotte Explained

Charlotte & Eloise Dislike Society

At first glance, it may not seem like Queen Charlotte and Eloise have much in common, butQueen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Storyshows notable commonalities between the two characters. The most important is thatboth Charlotte and Eloise resent Regency society.Charlotte is frustrated with societal expectations because she is forced into a marriage she doesn’t want, and even worse, is easily discarded by her new husband because he has more power than she has. In a similar vein, Eloise also dislikes the pressure on her to get married and wishes she had a more complex and exciting life.

What Happens To Eloise In The Bridgerton Books & How The Show Is Different

The focus of Bridgerton season 3 on Eloise’s story & plans to achieve her wishes puts her book story farther away in the best possible way.

Charlotte and Eloise may be in different positions, but their issues follow similar threads. Both women yearn for more from their lives and have to find the power within themselves to make a serious change. For Charlotte, this happens within her series, as she demands the truth from George and sticks up for him when the court tries to abuse him.Eloise has yet to truly make a change, but she has definitely tried. Her secret meetings with Theo and her trip to Scotland are both attempts on her part to get more out of life than society is offering.

Why Eloise’s Future Shouldn’t Copy Queen Charlotte’s Adult Life

Eloise’s Differences Are What Make Her So Great

Charlotte and Eloise may share similar qualities, but that doesn’t mean their stories should end the same way. Although Charlotte is first introduced inQueen Charlotteas a stubborn and opinionated character,Bridgertonproves that she eventually assimilated into court culture. She may have incredible power and influence, but her life is still dictated by the dramas of the ton. There is certainly still time for Charlotte’s story to change, but at this point, she no longer shows signs of the fiery young woman she used to be. This kind of change absolutely should not happen to Eloise.

IfBridgertonwere to end her story the way they ended Charlotte’s, they would be losing what makes Eloise so refreshing.

Eloise has always stood out throughoutBridgertonbecause of how different she is from others.EveryBridgertoncharacterhas qualms with society in their season, butEloise is the only one who openly questions why things are the way they are. She openly desires more for herself than just marriage and socializing. IfBridgertonwere to end her story the way they ended Charlotte’s, they would be losing what makes Eloise so refreshing. It is clear that Eloise cannot live a regular Regency life, thereforeBridgertonneeds to give her a different sort of ending.

Bridgerton Season 3 Already Set Up Big Changes For Eloise’s Story

Where Eloise’s Story Is Going Next

Luckily, it seems like Eloise is going to get a big change inBridgertonseason 4. At the end of season 3,Eloise decides to accompany Francesca, John Stirling, and Michaela Stirling to their homein Scotland. Though she will only be gone for part of the year, it seems likely that this trip will change Eloise in some ways. She will be able to enjoy freedoms that she doesn’t have in London. This will only benefit Eloise andBridgerton,as the show has kept her in the same role for far too long.
