Exciting crossover art imagines what an event that brings togetherMarvel Cinematic Universestars and DC heroes from the Arrowverse and theDCEUcould look like. Marvel Studios and DC have never had a live-action crossover, though — multiple times — heroes from the two biggest superhero universes have interacted in the comics. WithJames Gunn’s DC Universeonly now starting, a live-action crossover seems unlikely for some time. However,Gunn revealed that Marvel and DC crossover talks have happened, and new realistic fan art shows how that could work.

The fan art also includes Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, Grant Gustin’s The Flash, and Billy Crudup’s Doctor Manhattan. The MCU’s Infinity Stones are present in the crossover art, raising the stakes for the event. With theMCU’s Multiverse Sagastill having a few more years before it ends, there is a slim chance that one or more DC heroes could appear infuture MCU moviesfor a crossover. What The MCU & DC Crossover Art Means

It Showcases How Exciting A Live-Action Crossover Would Be

The MCU and DC crossover art is not official, so there is nothing in development regarding a crossover. However, that could very well change. Last July, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige toldCollider, “We’ll never say never” to an MCU and DCU crossover. Likewise, DC Studios creative chief James Gunn revealed in April 2023 that talks have happened, saying,“I would be lying to say that we haven’t discussed it.“Gunn started in the MCU before moving over to start the new DC Universe, which helps the crossover chances.

Recasting 20 MCU Actors In Perfect Roles For James Gunn’s DC Universe

James Gunn has already cast MCU actors in the DCU, and he has teased that more will come, with many Marvel stars being perfect for DC characters.

Doctor Manhattan, who is present in the Marvel & DC crossover art, could be used to bring the characters together in live-action. He has enormous power. In DC’s Doomsday Clock comic book story,Doctor Manhattan recreates the multiverse. As such, the character could easily be the one to put heroes from the MCU, the Arrowverse, the old DCEU, and Gunn’s DCU together. There are many villains who could oppose the heroes, with Marvel’s Thanos and DC’s Darkseid being two of the possible threats for such a live-action crossover if Dr. Manhattan was not somehow made the antagonist.

Our Take On The MCU & DC Crossover Art

A Live-Action Marvel And DC Crossover Would Be Incredible

The MCU & DC crossover art is very exciting because it shows the intriguing possibilities that such an event has. I would love to see Marvel and DC come together in live-action, especially sincethe multiverse has become a popular part of superhero movies and TV showsover the past decade. However, I think that such an event needs to happen in the future, allowing James Gunn’s DCU to establish itself first. Then,MCUandDCmovie & TV heroes could come together for what could become the highest-grossing movie of all time.

Marvel Cinematic Universe

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a multimedia superhero franchise that began in 2008 with Paramount’s Iron Man starring Robert Downey Jr. The franchise quickly grew in popularity, with Disney eventually buying out Marvel Entertainment in 2009. The MCU consists of dozens of movies and TV shows, most notably Avengers: Endgame, WandaVision, and Loki.

DC Universe

The DC Universe is one of the biggest comic book franchises and often competes with Marvel. DC Comics started as National Allied Publications, founded by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson in 1935. Since then, the franchise has exploded with thousands of comic books, movies, TV shows, and video games. 2013 marked the beginning of the most recent iteration of the superheroes, with Zack Snyder introducing Henry Cavill as Superman. After several movies with mixed reviews, DC underwent a soft reboot under the helm of James Gunn and Peter Safran.
