Summary

Walker Scobell reveals how he was almost in theMarvel Cinematic Universeafter being initially offered a role inDeadpool & Wolverine. 2024 has been a solid year for Marvel Studios, asDeadpool & Wolverinehas become the first MCU film sinceSpider-Man: No Way Hometo hit the billion-dollar mark at the worldwide box office. The Phase 5 film wasn’t only Wade Wilson’s integration into the MCU, but also a celebration of the Fox-Marvel era, withDeadpool & Wolverinehaving lots of Easter eggs and referencesto this period throughout the movie.

Despite already having a lot ofMarvel cameos inDeadpool & Wolverine, it turns out that a highly demanded fan casting almost came to fruition. In an interview withIGN,Walker Scobell discussed having initially been in talks withDeadpool & Wolverinedirector Shawn Levy about taking on the role of Kidpool. With the actor having already worked together with Levy and Ryan Reynolds onThe Adam Project, Scobell opened up about how he was honored to be considered, but that several factors came into play to prevent it from happening, sharing the following:

There was a little bit of talks, like maybe Kidpool, or like Teen, or something like that… but I grow a lot, and I’m super busy with Percy, and it didn’t make sense for the time. Shawn [Levy] gave me a call about it, which, it’s crazy that they were even thinking of me for that. That’s all I could ask for, and the fact that he gave me a call to tell me that it wasn’t happening, which I didn’t even expect it to happen in the first place, that was just more than I could ever ask for.

Deadpool & Wolverine Ending Explained

Deadpool & Wolverine’s ending is filled with multiversal stakes, insane cameos, and big teases for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

How Walker Scobell Could Still Appear In The MCU

While Scobell may not have been able to take part inDeadpool & Wolverine, that doesn’t mean he can’t show up in the franchise in the future. Given the massive success behindDeadpool & Wolverine, it wouldn’t be shocking if aDeadpool 4moviewere to be considered at some point, either before or after the end of The Multiverse Saga. That way, Scobell could finally come in as Teenpool (rather than Kidpool) and reunite with Reynolds' Deadpool, since that was a variant that didn’t show up in the new film.

However, with Scobell being a talented actor whose stardom is on the rise, he would also be a great addition to the MCU’s next generation of heroes. Marvel Studios is currently developing their newX-Menreboot, which is bound to feature young versions of various iconic heroes. Scobell could potentially take on an X-Men character and become one of the leading mutants in the MCU, which will likely start in Phase 7.

With Scobell already being in the Disney family throughPercy Jackson And The Olympians, it wouldn’t be a shock if he did join the MCU at some point down the line. It’s just a matter of timing, as filming a TV show does come with lengthy shooting schedules. But hopefully, after missing out onDeadpool & Wolverine, there will be a place for Scobell in the MCU in the coming years.
