Sea of Thieves PS5 Review: “Come In, The Xbox Waters Are Fine”
Sea of Thieves is another great Xbox exclusive that is now welcoming PS5 players into its vast and beautiful waters, which could use more excitement.
How To Use The Blade Of Souls
Weapon Features & Abilities
The Blade of Souls is one of the most unique melee weapons inSea of Thieves, with some of the best mechanics that make it worthwhile looting. Unlike othertreasures inSea of Thieves, the Blade of Souls is much like a Cutlass, allowing players who wield it to sprint while holding the item.
As for its offensive capabilities, when hitting an enemy or another player, you will set them aflame, causing them tobe knocked back and take fire damagefor a short time. This allows players to deal with additional damage aside from the base damage caused by its slash attacks.

Overall, it is exceptional in combat, especially when fighting large groups ofenemies inSea of Thieves, as those caught on fire will naturally step away from players as a protective measure. However, use this elemental-based damage ability wisely, as it is not infinite, and it will eventually lose its fire-based power after a certain number of hits.
The table below showcases all the skills and abilities that players have when using the Blade of Souls:

Effect
Slash
Performs a standard strike, which, upon landing, allows up to three quick consecutive slashes
Block
Hold to assume a guarding stance to block strikes from opponents. This pushes you and your adversary apart, which can slow the wielder.
Lunge
Hold for 0.5 seconds to automatically land a lunge attack that cannot be blocked. This slows the player down, preventing them from jumping. If you miss, you are momentarily unable to move.
The table below also showcases thecombos that players can perform, which are not immediately clear right away. Using these combos in your fighting strategy can bring the Blade of Souls to its fullest potential, leading to many victoriousPvP battles inSea of Thieves.

Block Dodging
While blocking, jump in any direction to hop to the target area. This can be used to navigate gaps through enemies, which is useful if cornered by swarms of attackers.
Block Lunge
While performing a lunge attack, perform a block at the same time to remove the immobility status of the wind-up. This can also synergize with Block Leap’s wind-up to dodge attacks coming your way that would otherwise cancel the lunge attack.
Leap Lunge
While undergoing a Block Lunge attack, jump to propel forward with high speed and momentum. Doing so while diving into water will allow you to cross huge distances.
The only downside to the Blade of Souls is that you cannot eat while it is in your possession, so players must drop the sword to consume food. While it can be dropped, it cannot be stored on a player like other weapons can. ensure to watch out for other crews attempting to steal it as you drop it momentarily.

How To Get The Blade Of Souls
Sink The Burning Blade Ship
RowleyDogEUon YouTube states that the only way players can acquire the Blade of Souls weapon inSea of Thievesis toparticipate in the Burning Blade World Event, in which players must attack and sink the Burning Blade skeletonship inSea of Thieves.
Upon logging into the server, you may spot this event, so make sure to join promptly. The chances of this event being active are fairly low, so search for different servers until you find one.
On your ship, your crew’s Map Table will mark the Burning Blade with a red beacon of swirling lights above it. When you reach the ship, you must confront andfight Captain Flamehartand his crew. Make sure you do this alongside your own crew; otherwise, this is an extremely tough and unmanageable endeavor as a solo player.
Use your Cannons and relentlessly shoot the ship from afar to sink it swiftly. Be mindful of the large crew size that the Burning Blade holds, as the ObsidianSkeletons inSea of Thievesare operating it, so do not hesitate to begin repairing it quickly. These skeletons will also fire Cannonballs, including Bone Callers and Firebombs, and may even use the Ashen Roar to shoot twin fireballs, which deal devastating damage.
Upon the captain’s defeat, the ship begins to sink, which takes 10 minutes, thereby ending the event. During this time, players will receive a notification stating they can either pledge themselves to Captain Flameheart and take over the ship or sink it to redeem their rewards. Among these valuable rewards is the Blade of Souls, so players mustselect the latter and sink the ship.
How to Get Generous Gifts in Sea of Thieves
Players looking for extra Doubloons, Commendations, and Reputation in Sea of Thieves are able to sell the rare Generous Gift item for these rewards.
How To Sell The Blade Of Souls
Sell To Trading Companies For Gold
While it cannot be stored, the Blade of Souls can be sold at varying prices but has abase value of 7,000 Gold. As it is found on the Burning Blade, it is worth half the value of the ship, depending on the number of Rituals itscrew inSea of Thieveshas completed.
For example, if the Burning Blade has completed one Ritual, it will be worth 26,000 Gold, and therefore, the Blade of Souls can sell for 3,000 Gold. This will increase with each Ritual completed.
By viewing the Map Table, you will see how many Rituals the Burning Blade has completed, allowing you toestimate the sword’s current worth. You can always wait for the ship to complete more Rituals to increase the sword’s value before acquiring it, but another player may beat you to it if you wait too long.
Fortunately, there are a large number of Trading Companies that will buy the Blade of Souls from the player, providing lots of Gold in return. These include the Merchant Alliance, Order of Souls, Reaper’s Bones, Athna’s Fortune, andGold Hoarders inSea of Thieves, as well as Guilds, each with its respective emissary raised. Moreover, those who are Pirate Legends can sell it to the Mysterious Stranger.
Players should try to sell the sword when the Burning Blade has completed three or more Rituals. This will unlock the Secretive Stash Commendation, unlocking all the parts from the Obsidian Bone Crusher Set at varying Grades inSea of Thieves:
Grade V
Obsidian Bone Crusher Figurehead
If players were in command of the Burning Blade when it sunk, the Blade of Souls can only be sold to Reaper’s Bones at the Reaper’s Hideout. Players cannot exploit this by intentionally sinking theirship inSea of Thievesto sell a high-value version of the sword to another Trading Company.
