Getting any kind of present or reward from the Grim Reaper inThe Sims 4should immediately set off a few alarm bells, as some players have started to realize after receiving a recent reward. The harbinger of death is not known for cheerful, innocuous gifts, and even something as benign as a bicycle could prove to be secretly cursed in some way. Though the simulation game often has many surprises for its players, the Grim Reaper Event’s bicycle provides a unique experience that may or may not have been intentional.

The Grim Reaper event inThe Sims 4is a spooky celebration that does not require players to have purchased the upcomingLife and Deathexpansion. By participating in the event, players earn several different Reaper’s Rewards, including the Grim’s Cruiser Bicyclein Week 3.

AsAmberj_90on Reddit showed with her short video clip, some strange things seem to be happening when a Sim tries to ride this bike. This is likely a glitch or bug, but it wouldn’t be too hard to imagine it was also intended by developers. Turning into an invisible ghost when riding the Grim Reaper’s bicycle does seem a bit on point.

The Ghost Bicycle Strikes Again

Commenters Are Enjoying The Humor Behind The Ghost Bike

Not everyone has experienced this same effect of a bicycle rider becoming invisible andcreating the appearance of a haunted bike riding through town on its own. In many cases, it seems to ride just like any normal bicycle with a massive skull attached to the front. Other players have even had different scenarios happen with this item, such as Reddit userWinterOld3229’s Sim riding their bicycle off a third-floor balcony and flying over to harvest lemons.

The Grim Reaper event is a limited-time feature that offers two quests per week until the event ends on July 27, 2025, with Grim’s Cruiser bicycle offered as a reward for Week 3.

This event is not directly tied to the upcoming expansion,The Sims 4: Life & Death, although they both feature the Grim Reaper and share the same general theme of death, perfect for the Halloween season.

Our Take: How The Small Things Add Up

Unexpected Surprises Can Make A Game Much More Fun

Whether the Grim’s Cruiser bicycle is glitched or not, the truth is that small surprises such as this in a game can add a lot of enjoyment and silliness to the experience. In this case, having the Sim go invisible, or even fly from three stories up, doesn’t hurt anything, but can absolutely give the player a good laugh and a chance to share the silly situation with others in the community.

This New Feature In Life & Death Should Have Been In The Sims 4 Base Game

The Sims 4’s upcoming Life & Death expansion pack is adding a feature to the game that is long overdue, missing despite its inclusion in older games.

The connection with the bicycle being given by the Grim Reaper makes this particular ghost-like situation even more humorous and can add to roleplaying qualities. It is easy to imagine that the Grim Reaper would give someone a bike that turns them into a ghost, if even just temporarily, inThe Sims 4.
