Solo Levelingis a series defined by the Hunters in it, and some of the strongest in the entire series come from Korea. Sung Jinwoo, the protagonist ofSolo Leveling, isn’t the only strong character to come from the Asian country. There are plenty of powerhouses that hail from the island nation, and while it can be hard to rank them in terms of strength, some are clearly much stronger than others.

Most of the strongest Korean Hunters are in their native countries, working in Guilds in order to gain money and fame while protecting their countries. There are two Korean Hunters who left their native country, and while they left for wildly different reasons, they are also some of the strongest Hunters in the series. The strongest Korean Hunters inSolo Levelinghave a variety of skills, but no matter what they bring to the battlefield, their enemies are never happy to be going against them.

Solo Leveling season 2 ending Sung Jinwoo and Beru

11Eunseok

Not Much Is Known About This Fallen S-Rank Hunter’s Death

Most of the Korean S-Rank Hunters inSolo Levelingplay a pretty big role in the series, but there is one that is shown briefly. Eunseok is only ever shown in flashbacks or before the main events of the series occur, because he died before they ever took place. His death plays a pivotal role in the Jeju Island Arc, and it’s easy to see why.

Eunseok might be much stronger than other Korean S-Rank Hunters, but because he died during the Third Jeju Island Raid, there’s no real way of knowing. He was a close friend of Min Byung-Gyu and Baek Yoonho, fellow Korean S-Rank Hunters who went with him onwhat turned out to be his final dungeon raid.

10Ma Dongwook

The Guild Master Of The Fame Guild

Ma Dongwook has the most personality of any Korean S-Rank Hunter in theSolo Levelinganime. He’s loud, incredibly large, and one of the best Tankers in Korea. He was on the front line during the Fourth Jeju Island Raid, and his sheer strength gave his fellow S-Rank Hunters a real chance to take down the Ant Queen.

Ma Dongwook is the Guild Master of one of Korea’s strongest guilds, the Fame Guild. While he is undoubtedly one of the strongest Hunters in his country, Japanese translator Hanekawa notes that he’s one of the weakest S-Rank Hunters she’s ever seen. Ma Dongwook did well in his sparring match against Baek Yoonho, but Choi Jong-In commented that if Baek were to be fighting seriously, Ma Dongwook wouldn’t have a chance.

9Lim Tae-Gyu

The Guild Master Of The Fiend (Reaper) Guild

Lim Tae-Gyu is one of the only Ranger-type Hunters shown in the series. While his fellow S-Rank Hunters use hand-to-hand combat, swords, or magic,Lim Tae-Gyu heads into battle with a powerful bow-and-arrow.He’s the leader of the Fiend Guild, also known as the Reaper Guild, and his abilities on Jeju Island prove why.

Unfortunately, Lim Tae-Gyu and his fellow Korean S-Rank Hunters were no match for the Ant King after the death of the Ant Queen. He tried his best firing arrows at the Ant King, but Jinwoo was the only Hunter who could even leave a dent in one ofthe strongest villains inSolo Leveling.

8Min Byung-Gyu

One Of The Few S-Rank Healers In Solo Leveling

Min Byung-Gyu has one of the saddest stories inSolo Leveling. He was a powerful Korean S-Rank Hunter and one of the few S-Rank Healers in the series who lost his close friend Eunseok during the Third Jeju Island Raid. He then mustered up the courage to head back for a fourth raid, only to lose his life to the monstrosity that was the Ant King.

He could have been one ofJinwoo’s strongest Shadows inSolo Leveling, but Baek Yoonho knew that his friend didn’t want to fight anymore. He’s one of the only Shadows Jinwoo has ever released, and he would have been an exceptional addition to the Shadow Army.Min Byung-Gyu saved several S-Rank Hunters from certain death with his impressive healing magic, and as a fighter, Byung-Gyu was as strong as an A-Rank Hunter as well.

7Chairman Go Gunhee

The Former Strongest Hunter In Korea’s Body Can’t Keep Up With His Power Anymore

At one point, Chairman Go Gunhee was the strongest Hunter in all of Korea. When the gates first opened, and people first started obtaining powers, Go Gunhee was at the top of Korea. Unfortunately, his body could no longer keep up with his overwhelming power, forcing Go Gunhee to take an administrative role to continue helping his fellow Hunters.

If Chairman Go Gunhee was younger,he would easily be one ofthe strongest characters inSolo Leveling.Towards the end of the series, his true strength is finally revealed in a battle against the Monarch of Frost, Sillad. While Go Gunhee held his own against the incredibly powerful villain as a Ruler’s vessel, his body couldn’t keep up, leading to his eventual death.

6Choi Jong-In

The Ultimate Soldier And Guild Master Of The Hunters Guild

Choi Jong-In is the leader of one of the strongest guilds in the entire world, the Hunters Guild. He’s known as the Ultimate Soldier for his abilities on the battlefield, but he must have earned that nickname several years before the main events of the series. At the present, Choi Jong-In isn’t even the strongest person within his own guild.

As a mage, there aren’t many with the firepower of Choi Jong-In.His fire magic is devastating, allowing the S-Rank Hunters raiding Jeju Island the freedom to let Jong-In handle most of the ants for him. If an enemy gets close to him, however, there isn’t much he can do. He has a close rivalry with fellow guild master Baek Yoonho, but if Baek were to fully transform, even the head of the Hunters Guild wouldn’t be able to do much.

5Baek Yoonho

The Guild Master Of The White Tiger Guild

Baek Yoonho is a prominent figure inSolo Leveling. He’s the leader of the White Tiger Guild, presumably named after his form when he fully transforms. He’s one of the few characters in the series that has a transformation, andwhen he unleashes it, there aren’t many who can stop him. He’s stronger than most other S-Rank Hunters thanks to one ofthe best transformations in anime.

Baek Yoonho has a great character arc inSolo Levelingas well. He starts as an ominous figure who demands Jinwoo to give him answers during the Red Gate Arc. When Jinwoo revives his friend Min Byung-Gyu’s soul, Baek Yoonho changes, asking Jinwoo to release his former comrade as a favor.

4Hwang Dongsoo

Dongsoo Moved To America To Get A Power Boost From Norma Selner

Hwang Dongsoo is one of the two Korean S-Rank Hunters who isn’t actually in Korea. He defected to America when he was given an unbeatable offer from the Federal Bureau of Hunters.

The American version of the Korean Hunters Guild recruited Hwang Dongsoo through Norma Selner, the world’s only Upgrader.Ms. Selner was able to give Dongsoo a 20-30% increase in his power, making him one of the few characters in the series to get stronger after his awakening.

Solo Leveling Season 2 Ending Explained: What to Know About Jinwoo’s Final Fight With Beru

Solo Leveling Season 2’s finale builds up a lot of mysteries for a new season. Here’s how the Jeju Island Arc’s aftermath sets up Jinwoo’s next fight.

Hwang Dongsoo is one of the most evil, selfish characters in the series. If it wasn’t for his upgrade in America, he wouldn’t be stronger than most other S-Rank Korean Hunters. Baek Yoonho was willing to fight him outside the Red Gate, and one of Yoonho’s abilities lets him test other people’s power, showing that the two aren’t far apart.

3Cha Hae-In

The Dancer Is The Only Korean Hunter Who Could Stand Up To The Japanese Hunters

Cha Hae-In is one of the youngest S-Rank Hunters in Korea, and she is easily the strongest for a decent portion of the series. She’s also one of the most interesting to watch fight, as she fights like a “Dancer”, which is her amazing nickname. She was strong enough to contend with Japan’s S-Rank Hunters, but when she made Atsushi Kumamoto go berserk, Jinwoo had to step in and save her.

During the Jeju Island Raid, Cha Hae-In shows whyshe’s in a different league than other S-Rank Hunters. Thanks to a power boost from Min Byung-Gyu, she was able to dance around the Ant Queen and behead her in one of the best fights ofSolo Leveling’ssecond season.

2Sung Il-Hwan

The Vessel Of A Ruler And Arguably The Second Strongest Character In The Series

Sung Il-Hwan is one of the most mysterious Hunters inSolo Leveling. He’s Sung Jinwoo’s father, and later in the series, he’s revealed to be one of the strongest characters in general. His strength is first seen when Hwang Dongsoo threatens Il-Hwan’s family, causing the long-lost Hunter to decimate Dongsoo without much effort.

Like Go Gunhee, Sung Il-Hwan is a vessel of the Rulers, but his body can’t keep up with the overwhelming power like his son can. Il-Hwan is also one of the few characters who could be considered National Level, as he only didn’t earn the title because he was gone when they came up with it.

Towards the end of the series, he’s seen defending his son from multiple Monarchs at once, proving thatSung Il-Hwan truly is one of the toughest Korean Hunters around.
