The user described the photo as from"The season 4 finale, and series finale content I shot at their Smallville downtown location.“Following the comic book story, Superman would inevitably return before the end of the final season, and these new photos suggest that this will happen in the series finale, if not sooner.

Having Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman disappear for the bulk of his series' final season is a bold choice, although it has so far been paying off forSuperman and Lois. Seeing theseries' cast of charactersoperate without the titular hero has still been mostly satisfying thanks to the show’s new Lex Luthor and Superboy. However,there have been expectations for Superman to return, and soon.The show can only operate so well and for so long without Tyler Hoechlin’s version of the hero.
It is comforting to know that this story will be resolved by the end of the season, and that Superman will almost certainly return. These set photos could be from flashbacks, althoughit seems unlikely thatSuperman and Loiswill end without a triumphant return from the titular hero.With excellent drama and action to end the show, the return of Clark Kent will hopefully be a satisfying way to end the series and also bring the Arrowverse to a close once and for all.

Superman Was Always Going To Return… But When?
Like any viewer who has read “The Death of Superman” or has seen the story told in film, including in Zack Snyder’s DCEU films, I’ve known that Superman was always going to return to the series following his death. However,I can’t help but be a little worried that these set photos have come from the final episode and not sooner.With 10 episodes in season 4, the thought of moving forward without Tyler Hoechlin’s Clark Kent for the rest of this season is concerning. I can only hope that Superman’s return inSuperman and Loismight happen much sooner.
