The Scarlet Speedster and the Man of Steel have competed numerous times over the years, but in a life-or-death scenario,the Justice League expresseswho they think would really win.
InThe Flash #19by Simon Spurrier and Vasco Georgiev, the Flash has gone rogue and fallen under telepathic control and the Justice League is scrambling to contain him. Mister Terrific uses Gamma rays to throw Wally off-centerwhile the Flash Familycorrals him so that a Boom Tube can take him into space, where Superman is waiting for him.
While the corruptedFlash and Superman battlein space, the heroes note that in a direct fight, Superman wouldn’t be able to land a punch on the Flash. However, Wally is eventually taken down with some assistance from Green Arrow.

Wally West Has Just Learned Too Much About Speed
As any DC fan knows, Flash and Superman are two of the fastest people in the DC Universe. Wally West is, of course, connected to the Speed Force, a living energy force that blesses people with incredible swiftness. Clark Kent, on the other hand, lacks such a connection, but his Kryptonian physiology allows him to move at speeds that defy comprehension, even without the Flash’s quasi-mystical force. Over the years, fans have debated endlessly over which hero is faster,a question that’s led to Flash and Superman racing for charity more times than fans can count.
Despite Superman being the team’s resident powerhouse, the entire Justice League seems to share the belief that in a direct confrontation, Clark would be unable to land a punch. Their beliefs are immediately proven correct as Wally still manages to avoid being hit by Superman, even in an environment not suited to Flash’s skills. Linda says it best in her discussion with Mister Terrific: The Flash has simply been around for too long and learned too much about his powers.Superman’s strength is simply nothing compared to how much Flash has discovered about his speed.

Wally has spent the better part of his superhero career learning everything he can about his powers, and it’s paid off considerably. He’s unquestionably the fastest speedster, and now he’s reached a point where DC’s most powerful hero alone isn’t a threat to him. Sure, if Superman could land a punch on Wally, it’d probably be lights out for him, but thanks to Wally’s continued ability to push himself and his powers, that’s just not going to happen. While fans will still want to debate who’d win in a footrace, the truth isSupermanisn’t fast enough for theFlash.
