Don’t get me wrong, having access to older Nintendo games is great, butI wish that Nintendo Switch Online wasn’t the only official method I could useto play some of them. I would be happy to buy some of these games individually if it was a service that Nintendo offered. While I can see the reasoning behind not doing it, as there would likely be a drop-off in Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions, I think it could end up being an overall win if Nintendo kept both options.

Adding GameCube Adds Value To Nintendo Switch Online Subscriptions

More Games For NSO Means The Subscription Is A Better Deal

Adding GameCube games is a huge positive for the value of a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Assuming the NSO Expansion Pack tier stays the same price when the Switch 2 comes out, $49.99 annually for the ability toplay GameCube games likeSuper Mario SunshineandThe Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker,on top of what the service already offers, is a good deal. Nintendo also promises more games are coming than have already been announced, and there are some great GameCube games that would really make NSO a must-have.

Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders Are Also Delayed In Canada

Following the delay of Switch 2 pre-orders in the U.S., Nintendo has announced that pre-orders in Canada will also be facing similar delays.

While what we already have is good,if the NSO GameCube adds games likeSuper Smash Bros. MeleeandMario Kart Double Dash!!, it will be hard to pass up.The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princesswould also be a huge bonus since its last release was on the Wii U. However, based on what we’ve gotten from other Vitrual Consoles, I’m not completely sure if the GamCube one will live up to its full potential.

The Current Games On NSO Make Me Unsure GameCube Can Fix All Its Problems

Nintendo Switch Online Needs A Larger Library Of Games To Keep Me Subscribed

Although there is a wide selection of games available on Nintendo Switch Online’s various consoles, there are still some notable exceptions. The absence ofSuper Smash Bros.from the Nintendo Switch Online N64 doesn’t make me optimistic aboutSuper Smash Bros. Melee, and we’re still missing some games fromthe Wii U’s Virtual Consoles, likeDonkey Kong 64. We do have many previousMario Kartgames, which makes me hopeful forDouble Dash!!, but I still can’t help but thinkwe won’t be getting all the best GameCube games through an NSO subscription.

Switch 2 Needs To Break A 20-Year Nintendo Tradition With This Idea From Xbox

Nintendo Switch 2 seems to be avoiding the achievements feature from Xbox, despite Sony eventually giving up; but the company stands firm.

Nintendo Should Allow Players To Buy Individual Retro Games

Players Who Don’t Want To Pay For An NSO Subscription Might Still Buy Their Favorite Games

Nintendo allowing players to buy retro games isn’t a new idea. The Wii U’s Virtual Console would let you buy retro games from systems like the NES and N64 before it was shut down. Now, I’m sure the reason it was shut down is that Nintendo crunched the numbers and decided the Nintendo Switch Online model would be more lucrative. However, I’m sure there’s a way where Nintendo could have its cake and eat it too.

Hades 2 Confirmed To Be A Console Launch Exclusive For Nintendo Switch 2

Hades 2 will be a Switch and Switch 2 console exclusive when it’s eventually released, according to a new announcement from Supergiant Games.

Nintendo would probably have to charge more than it did previously for games to keep an NSO subscription appealing to people who play a lot of games, but I’d be willing to pay a bit more to keep the games I like. I’m sure Nintendo could also get some players who never plan on subscribing to NSO to pick up at least one retro game, meaning they’d be making money off customers they didn’t have before. That said, if theSwitch 2just adds a lot ofquality GameCube games, this won’t really be an issue.
